We saw so many turkeys at the park this year. This one was doing its best to hide behind this little bare tree and blend into the background! I used one of the Lightroom presets to give it a little Fall color.
Happy Wing Wednesday!
We watched this squirrel in a park for some time. It was very busy! This particular one is a Pallas's Squirrel - very common in South East Asia
This image was created from multiple exposures blended together in Photoshop CS6 layers using the "Lighten" blend mode. All exposures were taken with a single Paul C. Buff Einstein strobe with a 22" beauty dish attached to a Elinchrom boom arm and a 3-stop B&W ND filter attached to my lens. If you send me a FlickrMail message, I'll be more than happy to send you some information on mostly how I photograph this style and what equipment I use, along with some YouTube video links that help explain this process.

From the vibrant South Bank of Melbourne, the city comes alive under the night sky. The shimmering reflections on the Yarra River beautifully frame the glowing skyline, with its dazzling towers and sparkling lights. The iconic Southgate Landing and riverside bustle create an inviting scene, blending calm waters with urban energy. This capture highlights Melbourne’s charm at night—where culture, dining, and architecture meet the rhythm of the river in a timeless glow.
A Hawthorn shield bug, Acanthosoma haemorrhoidale, matches well with the colours of the leaves from a Cotoneaster shrub, where I had found it.
Barred Owls are beautiful but so difficult to spot. This one was perched on a branch only a couple of feet off the ground. They blend with their surroundings so perfectly.
I don't wanna blend in
When I was born to stand out
I don't wanna settle
When God called me to soar
Stand Out - Matthew Snodgrass
The Oystercatcher chicks hide out at the edge of the surf next to rocks embedded in the sand. They blend into their environment perfectly. An attentive parent is always close by.
A Killdeer blends in perfectly with it's surroundings, if it wasn't for the red around the eye I wouldn't have noticed this one. Just off to the right of this photo I saw one of two small nests between the rocks and pebbles, it had 3 very small eggs in it, so hopefully in 25-28 days I'll be able to capture some Killdeer chicks!!
(This is the last photo in this series)
Created with 2 Wombo images plus hiker added from a third, all blended with Pixelmator Pro.
Prompts: Troll under forest bridge, ultra realistic skin and human eyes, scruffy hair
Style: VFX v2
Used a gray toned texture as an input.
I hope this hiker just turned around and ran the other way.
So glad you joined the this trek!
Not a butterfly I have been able to identify but it certainly wasn't that easy to see on the forest floor. I'd have had no chance if I hadn't seen it fly and settle

Between Pinnacles and Yellow Mounds Overlooks, this is my first blended edit for www.319photography.com Astro-Landscape Photography workshop in the South Dakota Badlands National Park.
The landscape is a single shot; the Milky Way is 15 stacked photos taken later at night.

I take pictures because I like it, not because I am good at it.

Was that a rustle I heard in the grass......?! Hard to stalk something thru this thick grass and weeds when you're that big.
He sure blended in well with the grass around him.
Actually this griz was busy prepping for the long sleep grazing along when he looked up, which wasn't often. My car was nearby for safety. I enjoyed him browsing for quite awhile but mainly saw hump and butt as he searched for food.
Another view of him in a more open setting in comments.
Snowing here as I look out my window. Beautiful! Not too concerned as it won't stick around long. But is a bit early....!
Enjoy a wonderful weekend!
