The island in the middle is called, somewhat unsurprisingly, 'Bled Island'. The main building is the church of the Assumption of Mary (Cerkev Marijinega vnebovzetja), built near the end of the 17th century. For weddings, it is considered good luck for the groom to carry the bride up the steps before ringing the bell and making a wish inside the church (Wikipedia).
The castle perched on a rock outcrop on the left shore is... Bled Castle.
There are three viewpoints to the south-southwest of the lake, each with slightly different perspectives.

The lake surrounds Bled Island (Blejski otok). The island has several buildings, the main one being the pilgrimage church dedicated to the Assumption of Mary (Cerkev Marijinega vnebovzetja), built in its current form near the end of the 17th century, and decorated with remains of Gothic frescos from around 1470 in the presbyterium and rich Baroque equipment.[1] The church has a 52 m (171 ft) tower and there is a Baroque stairway from 1655 with 99 stone steps leading up to the building. The church is frequently visited and weddings are held there regularly. Traditionally it is considered good luck for the groom to carry his bride up the steps on the day of their wedding before ringing the bell and making a wish inside the church.

It's a result of tectonics and was modified in Pleistocene by rivers and glacier. The island was inhabited (probably only temporarily) already in the Neolithic, the first buildings are dated into early Middle ages, when there already stood a sanctuary. The current complex was thoroughly restored in the beginning of this century. The view on this picture is from the Straža hill.
The castle's history dates back to 1004 when the German king Henry II conferred the estate of Bled on Bishop Albuin of Brixen. At that time, only Romanesque tower protected by the wall stood at the place of the current castle. The first castle was built by the bishops around 1011 for defensive purposes. The bishops of Brixen never lived in the castle; therefore, it did not have any exuberant .....

La ciudad balneario de Bled, o también conocida como la joya de la corona eslovena, es un maravilloso lugar para admirar, y nadie mejor para describirlo como el poeta esloveno France Preseren (1800-1849) quién dijo: “que no había nada más bello en toda la Carniola que este lugar tan sublime... lo más cercano al paraíso”. Fue parte de Yugoslavia y se convirtió en independiente en 1991.
Las imponentes montañas junto a sus prados y bosques, se envuelven en una mágica niebla que aparece y desaparece en tan solo unos minutos, preguntándonos si esto es real o imaginario.
Este lago siempre ha actuado como un imán. De oeste a este es cruzado por antiguas rutas comerciales que discurren por el valle del río Sava, y de sur a norte, por pasos de montaña que desembocan en el Adriático. Dan vida a la región las minas de mineral de hierro.
Los obispos de Brixen, tuvieron la idea de construir su castillo en el espolón de un acantilado de más de 130 m de altura sobre el lago, y controlaron la zona durante 800 años (de 1004 a 1803). El edificio alberga ahora un restaurante y un museo de Historia.

The spa town of Bled, also known as the crown jewel of Slovenia, is a wonderful place to admire and who better to describe it as the Slovenian poet France Preseren (1800-1849), who said "there was nothing more beautiful in all Carniola this place so sublime ... the closest thing to paradise". It was part of Yugoslavia and became independent in 1991.
The towering mountains with their forests and colorful meadows, wrapped in a magic mist and disappears aparaece in just a moment, wondering if this is real or is it just a dream that we would not wake up.
This lake has always acted like a magnet. From west to east, is crossed by ancient trade routes that run through the valley of the Sava River, and south to north through mountain passes leading to the Adriatic. Give life to the region, the iron ore mines.
The bishops of Brixen, they had the idea of constructing his castle on the spur of a cliff more than 130 m above the lake, and controlled the area for 800 years (of 1004 to 1803. The building now houses a restaurant and a museum of history.
