If she could…she would walk on tiptoes!

" Assasin droids, those weren't in the briefing...
We were barely five minutes into the mission and things were already going sideways. The initial boarding of the Blacksun freighter went off without a hitch, but once we advanced into the ships cargo bay we ran into a major problem. These bounty hunters weren't as inexperienced as our intel claimed, the cargo bay was guarded by a pair of IG-86 sentinel droids. It would be nearly impossible to disable the two droids without alerting the rest of the crew, luckily I was able to throw together a crude plan, it was risky but at least, it was something. We emerged from our hiding spot weapons drawn, filling the cargo bay with green bolts, both droids scrambled for cover. Now it was only a matter of time until reinforcements showed up. We managed to take out the droids as the first wave of smugglers stormed into the bay, this was when the real fun began. Using my magnetized boots, I secured myself to the deck and without waiting to see if Lucky had done the same, I spun around and slammed my fist into the cargo bay's airlock control panel and just like that, the bounty hunters were sucked into the endless void of space..."

"Better poor on Aargau than rich anywhere else."
Nothing more than a slogan to entice visitors. There was more money on Aargau than almost anywhere in the galaxy, and it did not make it into the hands of the poor.
The fall of the Empire freed many planets from tyranny, but the civilized worlds suffered the most. Instability leads to fear, fear leads to hoarding, hoarding leads to desperation, and then there is violence, on both sides.
Any hint of unrest in the undercity, and the armed guards of the city elite pulled people from their homes. Anything to quell the rumors, to stabilize the markets. The weakest in the undercity began to disappear, and their value to the planet at large dwindled into nothing.
You were safer on Aargau walking around in Stormtrooper armor than hand-me-downs. The local remnant capitalized on this.
Late night visits to the houses still populated, brute squads culling the lower class for conscripts. Nobody would miss them.
I felt the same about the stormtroopers themselves.
I have become known by the denizens of the undercity as the Shagha, Aargauese for "vengeful spirit". At the very least, they understood what I was doing.
I move quickly and quietly, my years killing for Black Sun finally benefitting someone besides the Princes.
A slain trooper here, a headless guard there, and a legend begins to grow. I pray it gives the people hope. I cannot truly better their lot, but I can protect them until the wind changes, I can keep them in their homes and away from the brutality of war.
There is irony in my bringing brutality to their streets, instead. Only when it is useful.
I know little of morality and even less of good. My methods are not perfect; I am a kind of monster. I have long known this. But there are times in the past where it has been more true, and faced with the current situation, I cannot stand by. This is all I know to do. Perhaps I can yet earn some measure of peace.

A starfighter made for Eurobricks:SoNE based on a microship (flic.kr/p/NSBsDi) by LucasLaughing (www.flickr.com/photos/dr--gonzo/). The differences are (mostly) meant to show that pieces of the ship have been sold off or damaged and not replaced.
Le ciel est lourd. Le jour s’est levé mais on le devine timide et sombre. L’été est là et avec lui les orages apportent une touche de spectaculaire et aussi une certaine inquiétude. Quelques jours auparavant des trombes d’eau avaient dévasté de nombreuses cultures. Les routes étaient submergées d’eau et de boue. La grêle n’était pas en reste.
Des nuages gris-noir laissent supposer un nouvel épisode de tempête. Mais c’est sans compter avec le jour levant qui entraine à sa suite le Roi Soleil.
Bien que se faisant encore discret, il illumine doucement la couche de nuages. Pas de pluie en vue, mais le tonnerre gronde au loin.
Le doute s’installe.
Je décide d’installer mon trépied. Je choisis d’y fixer mon fidèle Hasselblad accompagné du Planar CFI 100/3.5. Le cadrage est difficile. Il faut faire un choix. Priorité au ciel ou à l’arbre?
En fin de compte, je décide de garder les deux sans diminuer l’importance de l’un ou de l’autre.
L’attente.
Et puis, le vent se lève amenant avec lui des nuages de plus en plus menaçants.
Je perçois l’humidité dans l’air. La pluie approche…
Et soudain, comme un salut venant du ciel, une déchirure dans les nuages laisse entrevoir de faibles rayons de soleil.
Le paysage s’anime. Il s’éveille alors que le sentiment de nuit et de tempête s’évanouit.
Et ces couleurs, presque tout droit sorties d’un grand film de la meilleure époque!
Un instant un peu irréel.
Le capteur CCD de mon dos numérique « sait » faire ressortir des couleurs fantastiques.
Quelques photos et je découvre le résultat sur l’écran du dos.
Je rectifie l’exposition et le cadrage.
Encore des instants sublimes.
Ces moments de partage, et si magiques, entre le photographe et son sujet.
Beaucoup de patience et aussi beaucoup de chance.
Une belle journée, je crois.

Black Sun over the Black Sun sculpture by Isamu Noguchi at Volunteer Park in Seattle, WA.
Photographed with a Chinon SLR camera using an Auto Tamron f/4.5 21mm lens. The film is Kodak Spectrum Analysis film 5367, no.1 expired 4/1981. The film is only sensitive to UV and blue light. This was a 1 second exposure at f/4.5. It has been reversed like you would with a negative but you can see where the sun and the bright sky has become solarized from over exposure while the rest of the scene is exposed as a negative. The film was developed in Kodak HC-110 dilution F for 10 minutes with Benzotriazole used as an anti-fogging agent.
