Position: front parellel, palms together
Security: medium
Comfort: o.k.
Overall rating: The Black Box is applied for security reasons, not to make the inmate feel comfortable. It still does a great job even in this position which leaves the inmate perhaps the most freedom of all. But even in this position, the Black Box will cause some discomfort e.g. leaving pressure marks on the wrist.
Having tried all of these position, I would opt for front parallel, palms together if I could choose. It's not perhaps the most comfortable, but the least painful position. But anyway, inmates won't have the choice.
I have seen one of these at a show before but this is a different car and my first in the wild spot. Imported in late 2016.
The prisoner tries to lift his arms, but the restraints are pretty much restrictive. He will soon learn that moving around when being black boxed is a big mistake, as this will increase pressure on his wrists. He won't gain any extra comfort by doing this. On the contrary, it will inflict even more discomfort and even pain on him.
