(Agelaius phoeniceus). I think he looks like he's wearing a very elegant cape with epaulettes - perhaps he thinks he's a general!

A beautiful singing voice.

Picture taken at a pond in a subdivision, Village Shamrock, in Redford Township Michigan.

This was tricky, a black bird in the shade and backlight. Blackbirds are very common also during the winter in Sweden.

This female Red-winged Blackbird was busy moving between the cattails in the morning sunlight. Seen in the Hendrie Valley Sanctuary, part of the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington, Ontario.

The migration is ramping up here. For the purpose of my project. I will often post more than one image daily to move my numbers ahead and avoid a backlog. I don't expect a comment on each image. Today's set includes this Red-winged Blackbird, Canvasback, and American Coot.
