Stumbled upon this shot (and some more) while digging though the archives.

Today I visited the Great Mosque of Paris, I had wanted to do it for a long time. I don't regret it, it really is magical and the interior garden is a haven of peace and freshness.

The mosque, inaugurated on July 15, 1926, was built in the name of the Society of Habous of the Holy Places of Islam. It is the oldest of the mosques in metropolitan France used for worship.

The history of the Paris mosque is linked to colonization. It was designed as a gesture to commemorate the deaths of indigenous soldiers in the First World War.

Waiting for the train, at the metro station Bir-Hakeim, near the Eiffel Tower. I can not remember a city where I used to take the subway more often than in Paris.

I found this song perfect to help me get through this quarantine.

What song or music helps you?

"Here's wishing you the bluest sky,

And hoping something better comes tomorrow.

Hoping all the verses rhyme,

And the very best of choruses to

Follow all the doubt and sadness.

I know that better things are on the way.

Here's hoping all the days ahead

Won't be as bitter as the ones behind you.

Be an optimist instead,

And somehow happiness will find you.

Forget what happened yesterday,

I know that better things are on the way..."

Another item of my series on Bir Hakeim bridge at dawn. I like this moment when the sun is still hidden, yet lightens the clouds obliquely...
