A finales de febrero ya aparecen los primeros ejemplares de este ave migratoria y gregaria procedentes de África a donde vuelven al final de la temporada estival, una vez han sacado a sus crías y se han fortalecido para ese largo recorrido hacia su destino invernal.Es muy oportunista, mas carroñera que cazadora y se alimenta preferiblemente de pequeños roedores, aves, reptiles, ranas, polluelos de distintas aves, insectos, peces muertos que encuentra en las orillas y cualquier animal que encuentre muerto o enfermo, le es más cómodo que cazarlo, de esta forma contribuye muy eficazmente en la limpieza e higiene del medio ambiente evitando propagacion de infecciones y plagas

This is one of several buzzards that have taken up residence near where I live recently. I managed to get this close in as even though I disturbed them, the wind drift this one closer to my position as it was making its escape. I love the colour and shapes of their plumage that is only revealed when they fly.
