"In the future the greatness of a nation will not be judged by its advance in technology or by its achievements in architecture, art or sports, but by the amount of nature and biodiversity that it can hand over to the next generation."

Ten years ago, for the International Year of Biodiversity, 2010 I have created an extra album. If you want, you can have a look here.
Europe, The Netherlands, Zuid Holland, Rotterdam Zuid, Afrikaanderwijk, Afrikaanderplein, Biological garden (slightly cut from B)
In the middle of the high density Afriaanderwijk is the Biological garden of the quarter. About this garden, by the organization behind the garden:
“Come by for a visit to our special garden: in the middle of the city and yet an oasis. You will find native and exotic plants, original inhabitants and newcomers who feel at home in our climate. Discover our special collection of so-called 'Rotterdam plants': plants that have been blown in and now have a safe place in our garden. Never seen a Mandragora or Black Blue Rapunzel? Come by and let us tell their story.
We are committed to preserving biodiversity. This is important because in the stony environment of the city there is less and less space for plants and insects. Together with other Rotterdam parties such as the Natural History Museum, Arboretum Trompenburg, Diergaarde Blijdorp, Stadskwekerij de Kas, Rotterdamse Munt, Stichting Natuurstad and Stichting Steensoep, we have united in the Public Platform for Biodiversity. We want to tell Rotterdammers - adults and children - more about biodiversity and the ecosystem in the city and why it is important that we, as people, live together with plants and animals.”
This is number 183 of Land-, sea-, river-, mountain-, and agriscapes & assorted green.

...is not yet possible, but if it were, it would enable time travel, until then, it remains a fantasy :)
“Synchronicity in parallel universes can also be created with consciousness.”
Stretching in an arc over 3,000 kilometers of northern Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan and the northwestern and northeastern states of India and southwestern Tibet, the Himalaya hotspot includes all of the world's mountain peaks higher than 8,000 meters. This includes the world's highest mountain, Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest) as well as several of the world's deepest river gorges.

Just tested new lens, I like it ❤️ Seems my EXIF-data vanished somewhere, but it's Olympus Fisheye 8mm f1.8 PRO
What a fantastical world are we now entering! Biology and mechanical engineering are combining to create what were science fiction miracles just a few years ago…

A poolside visitor in Sun Lakes, Chandler, Arizona today.
I had to carefully take my camera into the pool to get the right angle for this guy, who patiently posed for me.
I think he is a "Serpent Ringtail" but I stand to be corrected by any experts out there.

...or, actually, just an overlooked spider web with morning dew. My 5-year old had to come find me to show me this; and I am glad she did. I love that she sees the beauty around her.
This is a re-visit to the web shot from last month. Someone (John) suggested black and white so I processed this one in monochrome (a shot from another angle) using Silver Efex Pro. Other than the crop and the B&W processing this is exactly how it was shot... and found.
Thanks Sergey Skleznev for the great title!
And thanks to Philocycler for the monochromatic suggestion!
Welcome to Planet Frost
Our tour continues...
Planet Frost is ecologically and biologically diverse. We strive to live in harmony with the natural life on our planet. There is an appointed team of scientists charged with cataloging and studying the myriad species of plants and creatures, both indigenous species and those that have migrated to our world. Here is one such scientific delegation, interviewing a pair of Daisy Gazers.

In an attempt to fix the eco problems the world currently has, their solution turned into an biological infection that spread and made the environment uninhabitable. The city ordered an immediate evacuation until the experiment had been destroyed. __________________________________________________
I wanted to try out some brighter lighting with this one and I'm pretty happy with how it came out. Inspired by Andreas' Havoc scene. Oh and happy turkey day!
