Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao - was built between 1994 - 1997 Creation of the museum was intended to be one of the ways the authorities Bilbao draw from the crisis, in which the city was falling into the death of the dictator Franco in 1975.
This event has had an impact on the city - in the first two years of the museum was visited by over 2.6 million people. Museum created then approx. 9,000 new jobs.
Museum building is built, among others, titanium sheet and glass. Museum exhibition space covers approx. 11 000 m². In its collection it has a contemporary art collection; among other things, the work of Eduardo Chillida, Andy Warhol, Willem de Kooning and Robert Rauschenberg.

Muzeum Guggenheima w Bilbao - zostało wybudowane w latach 1994 - 1997. Stworzenie muzeum miało być w zamierzeniu władz jednym ze sposobów wyciągnięcia Bilbao z kryzysu, w jaki miasto popadało od śmierci dyktatora Franco w 1975.

Gmach muzeum zbudowany jest m.in. z blachy tytanowej i szkła. Przestrzeń ekspozycyjna muzeum obejmuje ok. 11 000 m². W swoich zbiorach posiada ono zbiory sztuki współczesnej; między innymi prace Eduardo Chillidy, Andy Warhola, Willema de Kooning i Roberta Rauschenberga.

Puppy (en español Cachorro) es una icónica escultura floral moderna realizada por el artista estadounidense Jeff Koons en 1992 que está ubicada frente al Museo Guggenheim de la ciudad de Bilbao, España. Instalada en su emplazamiento actual en octubre de 1997, representa un cachorro escocés de la raza West Highland White Terrier. Se compone de una estructura de acero recubierta con aproximadamente 38 000 plantas naturales, que son reemplazadas dos veces al año a medida que dejan de florecer, así como de un sistema interno de irrigación. Con unas dimensiones de 12,4 x 12,4 x 8,2 metros, pesa un total de 16 toneladas
Puppy is an iconic modern floral sculpture by American artist Jeff Koons in 1992 that is located in front of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain. Installed in its current location in October 1997, it depicts a West Highland White Terrier puppy. It consists of a steel structure covered with approximately 38,000 natural plants, which are replaced twice a year as they stop flowering, as well as an internal irrigation system. Measuring 12.4 x 12.4 x 8.2 meters, it weighs a total of 16 tons.
