This metal half-arch actually covers the bicycle racks at the new Boroughmuir High School, but the way the dusk light was hitting it, I was struck with the notion of doing a close up just to get the lines, shadows and pattern, rather than the whole structure.
A bike shed with a river view.
Better than the usual dull grey and green, what do you think ?

Newly built bike shed at the Northgate station here in Newark! Lots of windows so light and airy……..and dry!
Bike shed - The ramshackle and slowly decaying shed with the equally decaying bike in Glen Etive as autumn takes over all around the glen.

GLOW, a lightfestival that takes place in Eindhoven this week.
Eindhoven is the place where the manufacturer Philips came to excistence. One of the big ones that focused on light(bulbs).
Throughout the city a whole scala of light art constructions can be seen. Free to look at.
This man cycled out of an underground bikeshed. The entrance was made like a big concrete pipe that went underground.
I thought this photograph is a nice one to introduce a series of photographs I made on GLOW light festival. :)

Non ci serve un'educazione
non ci serve che controlliate i nostri pensieri
Nessun cupo sarcasmo nella classe
Maestri lasciate soli i bambini
Hei maestro, lasciaci soli

Found a bikeshed from back in the days when riding a bike was not yet considered cool.

We are so lucky that we get Robin’s visiting our garden regularly, and one of their favourite look out points are the prunus trees.
I can hear you ask “what has caught this Robin’s attention”, funny you ask, Horace and Hoof were in our field with intricate plans and a few power tools knocking up a new shed🐦🐎🐷🔧🔨🔩⚙️
This shed is going to be a storage facility for spare rocket and jet engines that have suddenly become available on eBay. As Hoof said “it is quicker to replace an engine rather than down time repairing a poorly unit”.✈️🚀
As has been covered in some of my previous reportage, space exploration has always been very important to Hoof and Horace, we all remember the words of Neil Armstrong when he first stepped foot onto the moon “one giant leap and all that nonsense” however for some reason when Horace first stepped onto the moon his famous words were never recorded, which were, “there is no way a cow jumped over this thing”🌝🐄
Anyway back to the shed, it reminds me of a true story when we were at school.
One day some of the older lads were smoking behind the bike shed, a couple of my friends and I were listening in on their conversation and one lad says, “My dad can blow smoke through his nose” another lad says “well my dad can blow smoke through his ears” and the third lad says, “that’s nothing my dad can blow smoke through his butt, I’ve seen the nicotine stains on his underwear”💨💨💨💩🔥🔥🔥😁.
Going back to school days again, this is part of a poem we use to recite in primary school, which may resonate during this time.
Hail to the Homeland
Of thee we are a part
Great pulse of freedom
In every Cornish heart
Prompt us and guide us
Endow us with thy power
Lace us with liberty
To face this changing hour.
Thank you so much for viewing my photos, the comments and banter are so appreciated, take care, stay safe, keep positive🍺🍺🍺🍷🍷🍷🐎🐷😎😂😂😂
A great weekend with fellow 100 Strangers photographer Urban Scott (aka Peter) resulted in a fun weekend. WE checked out the Bikeshed 2019 in Tobacco Docks which was full of great characters and wonderful people. In fact, I bumped into a previous stranger that I had photographed before. It was fun to see him again.
Anyway, while it was a fun place, it was difficult to find places that we could shoot. I spied the corner of this outdoor area which was sending out some nice directional light. I tested it out with Peter ad then set about finding a subject.
Paul looked fantastic and instantly agreed, but I almost lost him after he quickly found out that I knew nothing about bikes. This was because apparently he looks like a guy called Henry Cole, the presenter of the Motor Bike Show. Luckily, he was only joking and we ended up having a lovely chat.
We tried a few poses and I really liked this one with him looking out and you can sense the wisdom in his eyes.
From a shooting perspective, i used a reflector on the camera left side to fill in the shadows.
Thanks very much Paul for allowing me this portrait. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the

Just one idea I had for this weeks Macro Monday theme Inspired by a Song.Based on Pink Floyds 1979 album The Wall and the song "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2" (I still can't watch the video for it as it creeps me out). The wall is made from Pez sweets and the image in the gap are out of focus pin heads from a photo I took for the mysterious theme we did a few weeks ago.
Another Brick In the Wall Lyrics

Another Brick in the Wall Lyrics - Part 1 (Waters) 3:41

Leaving just a memory
Snapshot in the family album
Daddy what else did you leave for me?
Daddy, what'd'ja leave behind for me?!?
All in all it was just a brick in the wall.
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall.

[Sound of many TV's coming on, all on different channels]
"The Bulls are already out there"
Pink: "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrgh!"
"This Roman Meal bakery thought you'd like to know."
I don't need no arms around me
And I dont need no drugs to calm me.
I have seen the writing on the wall.
Don't think I need anything at all.
No! Don't think I'll need anything at all.
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall.
All in all you were all just bricks in the wall.
Kim is my 3rd and final street portrait from the Bikeshed 2019 event held in Tobacco Dock London. Unlike the previous shot this was a natural light shot with a reflector.
Kim was here with her friend Daniel and is from Exeter. She owns 2 bikes herself and got into it because of Dad.
At the Bikeshed she was close to getting a Tattoo to add to the "shit ones" she had already. Not that it bothered her as each one is a story. In the end she decided against a tattoo as it was too expensive at the event.
She rode her bike to the event which took 3 hours and she also had the joy of driving past Stonehenge. Her bike was in the show.
Thanks Kim for protrait and the lovely chat with you and Daniel.
