- Music: Broken Bicycles by Tom Waits
Broken bicycles, old busted chains
With busted handle bars out in the rain.
Somebody must have an orphanage for
All these things that nobody wants any more
September's reminding July
It's time to be saying good-bye
Summer is gone, Our love will remain
Like old broken bicycles out in the rain
Broken bicycles, don't tell my folks
There's all those playing cards pinned to the spokes
Laid down like skeletons out on the lawn
The wheels won't turn when the other has gone
The seasons can turn on a dime
Somehow I forget every time
For all the things that you've given me
Will always stay, there broken but I'll never throw them away
Songwriter: Tom Waits
And very likely my last one. Giving my bicycles this Italian title with its female gender dates back to my youth when I was a keen cyclist taking part in road races. I had a number of racing bikes, but the Italian ones (Cinelli, Basso Loto) were always special. Now, I am using an ordinary mountain bike - but look at the tyre! Fast and slick. Another survivor from the past.

Sport and reportage photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Two hours into the marathon 6 hour, 230km, men's road race for the European Championship 2018. After another couple of hours on the wet and slippery street course the men's faces and legs looked black, like they had been down a coal mine, splattered with the grit and grime of the Glasgow streets. I thought this was a great position to get this shot as they twisted around Nelson Mandela Place. Enjoy!

One more in the bicycle series from Florence. This group of bicycles were locked up in a small garden outside a few apartments. The cracks and weathering of the wall caught my eye.
