Not one of *my* better compositions ...

Entitled 'Taichi Arch' it is the work of Ju Ming, conceived in 2000 and cast in bronze in 2014. The inspiration for Ming's Taichi series originated from the artist's own practice of the ancient form of Chinese martial arts which he took up in the 1970s with the objective of developing his physical and mental discipline. The sculptures' essential simpolicity relects the ideals of the martial art in its specific promotion of balance, clarity and discipline.

Barry Flanagan's 'Six Foot Leaping Hare on Steel Pyramid' !
I saw the TV programme about Barry Flanagan this afternoon ~ I think I like his hares even more now.
When we visited Chatsworth this week the 'Beyond Limits' sculpture exhibition was just ending and the works were being removed, and in several cases, shipped to their new owners.
I was amazed how heavy these little figures were. It took 3 men all their strength to lift each one, and great care was being taken to ensure they didn't damage the grass.
They had been sold and were going to a new home.
