Wing feathers are out to dry in an early winter afternoon.

When you hike in Arches National Park you can meet lot's of hikers, all kinds of them, from all over the world. What I did not expect was to find a hiking tree, right! Hiking tree! Just look at it! It's so fascinating!

An ice climber was killed on the North Face of Shuksan this week. I am not sure what they planned to ski down. The avalanche danger is still extreme so be careful out there.

Mt. Shuksan. Shuksan is the Lummi word for High Peak, or High Foot. Shuksan was named Ch’ésqen by the Nooksack people. Ch’ésqen means Golden Eagle. Here she is in her golden glory.

This was a color photo that was not very interesting. I bumped up the color saturation to darken the edges and bring out some contrast on the over-exposed feathers. Then I converted to black and white. To top it off I blurred the edges to bring focus to the head. I had planned to reset everything to the original settings. But I like this and so here it is.

A walk in the cemetery

Two lucky hits: the same squirrel once left and once right looking around the corner. I then put the two shots together with the panorama program - done.

The time difference between the two shots was 7 seconds.

These mushrooms were growing on the side of a tree next to a popular trail. I watched them sprout and grow to this size. Bohnli says the look like Streusel buns, a Swiss treat. I hiked the same trail a week later to find that someone had smashed the mushrooms to bits with a stick.

Don't forget the Step Mothers you know this weekend.

Landscape view of fog surrounding Point Grey. Taken from the Cypress Road overlook in North Vancouver, BC. Canada.

The Twin Sisters. The North Twin is on the left and the South Twin on the right. This is the largest chunk of Olivine in the world. The North Twin is a favorite for climbers and off piste skiers.

Mt. Shuksan and the path to the sledding hill. The snow bank if taller than the adults, which is normal. This was a fairly good year for snow, but we have had much deeper here.

Happy New Year mates!

This is just a small highlight of the best works I've created in 2015. There's still much for me to learn, so bring on 2016!

Enjoying the last of the weekend with the whole family.

A couple walks the path along the water in Vancouver, BC.

This was found on the path to Lake Ann. I love that trail!

The Mountaineers Cabin at Mt. Baker. The roof takes on a bit of weight in the winter. It all acts as insulation. Just don't stand under the eaves! This is the base camp for many of my Shuksan and Exploer's Club photos. Table Mountain in the background, to the right.
