Autumn glow...lighting candles, listening to some old favourites and snugging up on a cold night :) Simple pleasures are the best.

#Redheads - Flickr Friday

The Macro Mondays theme for today, 1/31, is currency - real or pretend. I am so literal! Am fairly certain this will be my posting for today— it’s probably the best macro although certainly not the cleanest!!

(earlier)…..There will be a couple of possibilities that I’ll post and then dither about— grin

Something different for Saturday ... a Waterford crystal cut-glass figurine that never made the cut for Macro Mondays this week. Thought, though, she deserved a Flickr flight today. Again, for best macro results, please enlarge, this time, by clicking on the beak ...

Have a lovely weekend ... 😊

This week’s photo challenge was macro. So I went out with my macro lens and tried some photos of insects. I was very happy with the results and it was difficult to choose. But I hope I managed to select my best Macro shot.

This is a Damselfly stuck in Sundew. And I wondered, is he really praying to be released?

HMM-- the theme for today, 7/29, is made of wood. there are 5 possibilities today- almost all square cropped and slightly noir-ish. this is probably the best macro, with details. hmmm, it appears that this is the fave so far-- maybe time for a cuppa coffee and some cogitating......... ok, since the i💙you handsign might not cut it due to the wood being secondary-- this is my choice for today :)

ANSH scavenger9 "nailed it"

Best things come in small packages, apparently. Which doesn't say a lot for me, being 6ft 2ins tall, a good chunk broad and former rugby playing forward. But does say everything about this delightful little flower, Lewisia, that's so small you'd pass by without ever noticing her. Credit goes, of course, to the lovely, Lady Bo, for her knowledge, horticultural skills and planting these exquisite wee flowers in the garden, resulting in me crouching down on bended knees, not to propose again, but with G16 in hand this time...

💃💃💃

For best macro results, please enlarge by clicking on the photo. Should knock your shocks off ...😊

One of several possibilities for the Macro Mondays theme of condiment for August 29. Am liking the little people ones, although the piccalilli without the little people is probably the best macro.

Yes, I am dithering. Maybe when I next wake up, I’ll have an idea of which one I want to use! ........... (later) with the advice from my DD, i am going with this one.

……💙HMM💙 🍕🍯

i've been shooting these wildflowers for years. this is, to date, my best macro capture of the stamens.

hand-held macro captured with Canon A1000 IS P&S and The Intensifier P&S macro lens. sooc, uncropped, reduced to 800x600.

Wish you all a Happy Macro Monday! My Macro lens is a Canon lens, I do not have a macro lens for my Fujifilm camera. So adapted a very old enlarging lens I purchase in 1976. This Analog era lens when coupled with an extender are the best Macro lenses.

Technical Info: Image taken with a Fujifilm XT-1 and a very old analog era 50mm enlarger lens, ISO: 800, Mode: Aperture Priority, f/5.6, 1/220 sec.

Hermetia illucens

Detalles de los ojos de esta mosca, la veo con frecuencia pero me parece inofensiva

There can be some real honest beauty in that which is overlooked. I think this is a weed in the rough patch of my garden and one of the best macro compositions I have, to date, had the good fortune to stumble across.

So I thought, as it's doing its best and surviving, alive and well, then maybe give it some good presentation and put it up and out in to the Flickrworld for its own special moment...

going back to what i like to shoot best...macros!

Lovely sunny afternoon for once, stepped out into the garden and found this guy enjoying the weather. Big Beatles revival going on at the moment, hence the title.

Not the best macro shot you'll ever see I'm sure, but I fancied a bit of a play!

HMM....... the macromondays theme for today is flame and this was a possibility and probably the best macro, although not my choice for today. this is a gold birthday cake candle up close and burned down. was fascinated by how the wicking stayed intact thru much of the burning.

"macro mondays" flame possibility

HMM- this was a possibility for my choice for the macro mondays' group pool for the theme of sound. most of my pictures were in the homemade musical instruments category ~grin~..... this may be the best macro

"macro mondays" sound possibility

shot with a fujifilm x-s10 and fujinon 55mm f2.2 screw-mount lens, with helicoid adapter

≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡

this lens is actually pretty impressive when extended out on the helicoid for quasi-macro work. this was shot at either f2.2 or stopped down one click to f4. this lens might have one of the best macro tube performances of any of the vintage 50ish lenses i've had the opportunity to use.

my review of this lens: www.aarondesigns.org/Fujinon55mmf22Review/

He wasn’t even sure he could carry them in his rucksack as he walked through the valleys of Pennsylvania and Ohio, scattering apple seeds along his way.

The Macro Mondays theme for 8/7 is seeds. My DD happened to leave a Granny Smith apple on the counter and the rest, as they say, is history. There are actually 3 Johnny Appleseed models - the others will go up this weekend. This one is probably the most believable for JA and the best macro of seeds.

For those of you who have seen this in an earlier incarnation, I just had to do some sprucing up of Johnny’s wardrobe!!

…….💙 HMM 💙🌱💙

for the #MacroMondays theme of “perfect together”— an ornament and the string to hang it…. am not sure I’ll use this but she’s just so cute!! She’s under 5cm- will post the size verification later.

She was created by a dear one which makes her even more special!

…….💙💙 HMM 💙💙

Btw, probably the best macro is the Velcro strap used for keeping cords together.

Not the best macro in the world, should have cleaned the watch first, but I thought I should post something other than a flower!

08-190

The Macro Monday theme for tomorrow, 5/3, is nuts- the edible or the metal kind. This is a possibility and probably the best macro of the 4.

Today was the best macro photography day so far this year. I'm finally starting to find some interesting variety out there.

HMM-- the macromondays' theme for today is silver and/or gold :) this is our fiber optic tree which has been back in our livingroom since the beginning of march- giving us light and color. i think there are 4 possibilities today, and this is probably the best macro-- even if it doesn't have any blue ~grin~

"macro mondays" "silver and/or gold" possibility

Probably my best macro shot to date. Finally got the light almost how I want it with not to many bright spots. Also finally getting to grips with avoiding transparency in some of the finer details etc.

Flowers. Feb 14, 2009 Explore #121.

7-spot ladybird Coccinella septempunctata taken in my garden in Wigan, Lancs. using my Sigma 105mm macro lens at approx. 42cm from the subject

The early stage of a new Pincushion Flower beginning to bloom. This photo was taken at night in our garden. I ordered a new to me, used, Nikon macro lens. Nikon calls theirs micro lens. It arrived late afternoon on Friday. It's the Nikon Nikkor AF 200 mm f4 D ED Micro prime lens. I'm posting the first three photos taken with this lens. I'm still learning it's sweet spot, yet I can already tell that it will perform better than my old eye sight will allow. It's an older lens with an all metal body. It's built like a tank. I own the Nikon AF-S VR Micro-NIKKOR 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED Lens already, and have used it many times. I like this one better. This new lens was highly rated by both Pros, and Amatures, to be the best Macro lens Nikon made. This lens will see a lot of use, and hopefully I can live up to it's potential.

Swiss Schoggi is the best.

Macro Mondays theme: chocolate.

EXPLORE. 10-18-2008. THANK YOU SO MUCH DEAR FLICKR FRIENDS! YOU'RE THE BEST!

Macro. A spectacular pink and yellow rose just opening up .... taken right before the big freeze. I really love the exquisite petals, with their folds and furls. Hope you enjoy it as well!

Up against a huge writing deadline ~ again. So my deep apologies not being able to comment as much as I'd like. I promise to catch up to all of your wonderful photos really soon! Have a beautiful day, dear Flickr friends!
