Macro Mondays theme My Closest Used both window and side light, experimented your extension tubes, F Rings. The Nikon 105mm is the best macro lens on its own. HMM. Could have been closer but like the thread bokeh and ruler for context.

Esta flor tropical florece y se marchita en una noche, por lo que le colocaron el nombre de La Flor del Baile.

The Macro Mondays theme for today, 1/31, is currency - real or pretend. I am so literal! Am fairly certain this will be my posting for today— it’s probably the best macro although certainly not the cleanest!!

(earlier)…..There will be a couple of possibilities that I’ll post and then dither about— grin

Something different for Saturday ... a Waterford crystal cut-glass figurine that never made the cut for Macro Mondays this week. Thought, though, she deserved a Flickr flight today. Again, for best macro results, please enlarge, this time, by clicking on the beak ...

Have a lovely weekend ... 😊

This week’s photo challenge was macro. So I went out with my macro lens and tried some photos of insects. I was very happy with the results and it was difficult to choose. But I hope I managed to select my best Macro shot.

This is a Damselfly stuck in Sundew. And I wondered, is he really praying to be released?

About 5 days old this eaglet has the best parents in the world!! Near St.John's, NL. Canada.

Voigtländer Macro APO-Lanthar 110mm 2.5

I was lucky to find several of this species, the Purple-edged copper (Lycaena hippothoe) on a meadow, I only saw males.

This Photo image is cropped a little bit.

I think that the Voigtlander MACRO APO-LANTHAR 110mm F2.5 are the best Macro Lens for SONY E-mount Cameras !

One of several possibilities for the Macro Mondays theme of condiment for August 29. Am liking the little people ones, although the piccalilli without the little people is probably the best macro.

Yes, I am dithering. Maybe when I next wake up, I’ll have an idea of which one I want to use! ........... (later) with the advice from my DD, i am going with this one.

……💙HMM💙 🍕🍯

i've been shooting these wildflowers for years. this is, to date, my best macro capture of the stamens.

hand-held macro captured with Canon A1000 IS P&S and The Intensifier P&S macro lens. sooc, uncropped, reduced to 800x600.

Not the best macro but an interesting species of hoverfly found in a woodland near by last year. Also known as a golden tailed leaf licker

Pollen gathering out in the garden....

Nine-spotted moths aren't quite as shy as other butterfly species, so I was able to get close enough with my Tamron 28-75 G2.

I chose the 28mm setting because the lens offers its best macro performance at that focal length.

In doing so, I had to strike a good balance between bokeh and depth of field.

HMM-- the theme for today, 8/17 is push/pull. found this theme particularly tricky since several of mine were trying to show the push or pull action, which is not easy when simultaneously trying to push the buttons on an iphone ~grin~, so i opted for no action. this may be the best macro of the four and it surprised me to discover that floss was more ribbon-y than thread-y.

"macro mondays" pushpull possibility

HMM....... the macromondays theme for today is flame and this was a possibility and probably the best macro, although not my choice for today. this is a gold birthday cake candle up close and burned down. was fascinated by how the wicking stayed intact thru much of the burning.

HMM- this was a possibility for my choice for the macro mondays' group pool for the theme of sound. most of my pictures were in the homemade musical instruments category ~grin~..... this may be the best macro

He wasn’t even sure he could carry them in his rucksack as he walked through the valleys of Pennsylvania and Ohio, scattering apple seeds along his way.

The Macro Mondays theme for 8/7 is seeds. My DD happened to leave a Granny Smith apple on the counter and the rest, as they say, is history. There are actually 3 Johnny Appleseed models - the others will go up this weekend. This one is probably the most believable for JA and the best macro of seeds.

For those of you who have seen this in an earlier incarnation, I just had to do some sprucing up of Johnny’s wardrobe!!

shot with a fujifilm x-s10 and fujinon 55mm f2.2 screw-mount lens, with helicoid adapter

≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡

this lens is actually pretty impressive when extended out on the helicoid for quasi-macro work. this was shot at either f2.2 or stopped down one click to f4. this lens might have one of the best macro tube performances of any of the vintage 50ish lenses i've had the opportunity to use.

my review of this lens: www.aarondesigns.org/Fujinon55mmf22Review/

for the #MacroMondays theme of “perfect together”— an ornament and the string to hang it…. am not sure I’ll use this but she’s just so cute!! She’s under 5cm- will post the size verification later.

She was created by a dear one which makes her even more special!

…….💙💙 HMM 💙💙

Btw, probably the best macro is the Velcro strap used for keeping cords together.

HMM-- the macromondays' theme for today is silver and/or gold :) this is our fiber optic tree which has been back in our livingroom since the beginning of march- giving us light and color. i think there are 4 possibilities today, and this is probably the best macro-- even if it doesn't have any blue ~grin~

"macro mondays" "silver and/or gold" possibility

~ note: no ants were harmed for the making of this photo . . .

as they are made of plastic . . . it's a long story :)

The #MacroMondays theme for 5/19 is #keys. Saved a whole keyboard full but this is the only one I found when looking for photo props.

It looks rather dramatic, eh? And it’s probably the best macro of the possibilities today! I do love the little Dutch clogs too, so I guess I’ll dither for a while.

EXPLORE. 10-18-2008. THANK YOU SO MUCH DEAR FLICKR FRIENDS! YOU'RE THE BEST!

Macro. A spectacular pink and yellow rose just opening up .... taken right before the big freeze. I really love the exquisite petals, with their folds and furls. Hope you enjoy it as well!

Up against a huge writing deadline ~ again. So my deep apologies not being able to comment as much as I'd like. I promise to catch up to all of your wonderful photos really soon! Have a beautiful day, dear Flickr friends!

HMM (a possibility that i didn't choose)- the theme today 4/6 is plastic and i took lots of pictures. i'll post some of the possibilities here. the magnetic faux pushpin is plastic :) ... this is probably the best macro one and it’s SO blue!!

Crocus flavus, known as yellow crocus, Dutch yellow crocus or snow crocus, is a species of flowering plant in the genus Crocus of the family Iridaceae. It grows wild on the slopes of Greece, former Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Romania and northwestern Turkey, with fragrant bright orange-yellow flowers. It is a small crocus..

7-spot ladybird Coccinella septempunctata taken in my garden in Wigan, Lancs. using my Sigma 105mm macro lens at approx. 42cm from the subject

Salvia Greggii from our garden. Photo taken at night. I ordered a new to me, used, Nikon macro lens. Nikon calls theirs micro lens. It arrived late afternoon on Friday. It's the Nikon Nikkor AF 200 mm f4 D ED Micro prime lens. I'm posting the first three photos taken with this lens. I'm still learning it's sweet spot, yet I can already tell that it will perform better than my old eye sight will allow. It's an older lens with an all metal body. It's built like a tank. I own the Nikon AF-S VR Micro-NIKKOR 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED Lens already, and have used it many times. I like this one better. This new lens was highly rated by both Pros, and Amatures, to be the best Macro lens Nikon made. This lens will see a lot of use, and hopefully I can live up to it's potential.

Probably my best macro shot to date. Finally got the light almost how I want it with not to many bright spots. Also finally getting to grips with avoiding transparency in some of the finer details etc.
