This is an ATC that I created for Berta Sergeant for the March trade of our group.
Materials: polymer clay, cooper wire, glass and metal beads, silver back foil

Durante un tiempo no estuvo segura de si su marido era su marido, de manera parecida a como no se sabe, en la duermevela, si se está pensando o soñando, si uno aún conduce su mente o la ha extraviado por agotamiento. A veces creía que sí, a veces creía que no, y a veces decidía no creer nada y seguir viviendo su vida con él, o con aquel hombre semejante a él, mayor que él. Pero también ella se había hecho mayor por su cuenta, en su ausencia, era muy joven cuando se casó.
Estos eran los mejores periodos, los más tranquilos y satisfactorios y mansos, pero nunca duraban mucho, no es fácil desentenderse de una cuestión así, de una duda así. Lograba dejarla de lado durante unas semanas y sumergirse en la impremeditada cotidianidad, de la que gozan sin ningún problema la mayoría de los habitantes de la tierra, los cuales se limitan a ver empezar los días, y cómo trazan un arco para transcurrir y acabarse. Entonces se figuran que hay una clausura, una pausa, una división o una frontera, la que marca el adormecimiento, pero en realidad no la hay: el tiempo sigue avanzando y obrando, no sólo sobre nuestro cuerpo sino también sobre nuestra conciencia, al tiempo le trae sin cuidado que durmamos profundamente o estemos despiertos y alerta, que andemos desvelados o se nos cierren los ojos contra nuestra voluntad como si fuéramos centinelas bisoños en esos turnos nocturnos de guardia que se llaman imaginarias, quién sabe por qué, quizá porque luego le parece que no hayan tenido lugar, al que se mantuvo en vigilia mientras dormía el mundo, si consiguió mantenerse en vigilia y no ser arrestado, o pasado por las armas en tiempo de guerra. Una sola cabezada invencible y por su causa se encuentra uno muerto, o es dormido para siempre. Cuánto riesgo en cualquier cosa.

It was a night of fine Cigars, hand rolled by Berta Corzo Thorpe, Cuba's best production Cigars (I had my first Behike 52), Rums and Music. a splendid time was had by all!

Esta historia es simple... caminando por la playa vi a esta simpática viejita jugando con la arena y pensé... que increíble es la vejez... volvemos a ser como niños... me dio mucha ternura, y me acerqué a ella... me dijo que su nombre era Berta, que tenía 86 años pero que su alma era joven, que cuando sus hijos la llevaban a la playa era feliz porque así con la arena caliente se aliviaba el dolor que siempre le acompaña en su pie, producto de una mala operación...
Berta ojalá te mejores y sigue contagiando alegrías... Gracias por hacerme sonreír

Berta in the kitchen back when our life was still normal (well as normal as it goes) and we did things at day and slept at night...
At TEDxYouth@Barcelona we certainly won’t be talking about any depressing news. Or about “ni-ni’s”. Or brain drain. Or youth unemployment. Our aim is to celebrate young talent. Because we’ve got a lot of it in Barcelona and we want to share it with the world.
Related with programming or dancing, robotics or music, mathematics or cooking. Photography, sports, or design. Never mind what area it is: TEDxYouth@Barcelona is an event to showcase examples of young people who chase their passions and help inspire others to find their own.
Our first TEDxYouth@Barcelona event took place on Saturday 16th of February 2013 at the CCCB (Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona).
