I went on my knees and crawled over to her. She was lying in the grass and frequently eating a bit. Lazy Berta. Then suddenly she looked like this. I came too near?

I learnt her birthdate from the previously posted photo (see below in my comment).

This portrait was taken around 1881-82, by Josef Kohaut (1830-1888), Budapest, II. Bezirk, (District) Wasserstadt, (Watertown, a quarter of Buda) Schulgasse No. 44.
Kohaut was not only a photographer but also a painter.
