The Reformed Nydeggkirche (from the Bernese German expression for "Lower corner") is located on the eastern edge of the Old City of Bern, in the Nydegg section. The old town is situated on a peninsula in a loop of the Aare and developed in several expansion stages. The first occurred in 1191, as an existing settlement was expanded in the area of Nydeggkirche to the Clock Tower (Zytglogge). The original small church was built from 1341 to 1346 to replace the old fortress. The current tower's appearance mostly dates back to the 1571 reconstruction. Bern was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 (Wikipedia).

The Eiger peak at 3,970 m above sea level is the most famous mountain in the history of extreme mountaineering. Its northern face, called Mordwand (Death Wall), visible on the left, took many casualties before being climbed by mountaineers. Together with Mönch (4,107 m above sea level) and Jungfrau, it forms the massif of the three great peaks of the Bernese Alps in Switzerland.

Szczyt Eiger o wysokości 3970 m n.p.m. jest najbardziej znaną górą w historii alpinizmu ekstremalnego. Jego północna ściana zwana Mordwand (Ściana Śmierci) , widoczna po lewej stronie, pochłonęła wiele ofiar zanim została zdobyta przez alpinistów. Wraz z Mönch (4107 m n.p.m.) i Jungfrau tworzy masyw trzech wielkich szczytów Alp Berneńskich w Szwajcarii.

She's walking and barking again, that is a good sign. But she's not eating much, even though I was cooking rice and chicken for her. She's 9 years and 2 months old, and that's good for a Bernese. Yesterday she wasn't looking out for me, when I was coming home. That was disturbing.

Lake Gelmer at an altitude of 1860 m is one of the most picturesque in Switzerland.

You can get to it using the cable railway from Handegg and the subsequent hiking trip. Until 2017, the opening of the Stoos funicular in Switzerland, the Gelmerbahn was the steepest in Europe (106% maximum incline).

12 minutes of almost vertical ascent in an open cable car provides a thrill, while a two-three-hour hike around the lake offers unforgettable views of its emerald waters, granite mountains, picturesque cliffs and running streams.

Путешествие к изумрудному озеру

Озеро Гельмер на высоте 1860 м - одно из самых живописных в Швейцарии.

Добраться к нему можно с помощью горного фуникулера от Хандегга и последующего пешего похода. До 2017 года, открытия в Швейцарии подъемника "Штоос," Гелмербан был самым крутым в Европе (максимальный уклон 106 %).

12 минут почти вертикального подъема в открытом вагончике фуникулера обеспечивают острые ощущения, а двух-трехчасовый поход вокруг озера дарит незабываемые виды на его изумрудные воды, окружающие гранитные горы, живописные скалы и бегущие ручьи.

A train of the Rothorn Bahn making its way up to the top of Mount Rothorn near Brienz.

The line is 7.6km long and rises 1678m in that distance, it is built to a gauge of 800mm and the average gradient is approx 1 in 4 1/2. The summit station is at 2244m above sea level.
