In this beach cottage designed by John Willey, the walls are painted Benjamin Moore's Clear Skies, which "balance the intensity of the bright Nantucket sky," says Willey. He upholstered the sofa cushions in Lee Jofa's Ricamo Stripe because the pattern reminds him of summery outdoor awning stripes. The sofa frame in Atlas coral linen by Nobilis calms down all the pattern.

Designer Candice Olson turned a corner of a living room into a small office. Walls are painted Mannequin Cream by Benjamin Moore. She paired a rustic wood desk with a shiny black polycarbonate chair. To make the space seem larger, she leaned a beveled mirror against the wall; overlapping it, a framed photo ties to the art gallery to the right.

Designer Barry Dixon turned the top of a 1950s hutch into a headboard, re-created the lattice at the foot, and painted it Farrow & Ball's Ciara Yellow with a wash of Benjamin Moore's Startling Orange — inspired by the spice market in Morocco. Pure Ciara Yellow is on the ceiling and the bed's base.

» (Emmanuel Cocke)

Fabulous. I love the shade of green, and that it bleeds over everything—the bookshelves, the mantle, the trim—and that sofa! It’s called Huggy Bear. I mean. Right?

The space is a Beaux Arts Chicago co-op built in 1925 and newly redecorated by designer Michael Richman. He custom designed the sofa (too bad for us). The artwork is Hand On Her Back by Louise Lawler from Metro Pictures Gallery (www.metropictures.com). Wall paint is by Benjamin Moore—I’ve e-mailed the editors to find out the color.

Update: The color is Pine Brook, from the Classic Colors collection.

Read more about Swiss Coffee at www.roomlust.blogspot.com.

Designer Eric Cohler combined cool blue and pale gray in this Park Avenue bedroom, where walls are painted Benjamin Moore's Swiss Coffee, one of the company's most popular gray paints. Curtains and shade are Dandelion from Q Collection; Greek key trim from Samuel & Sons. Silk carpet by Royalton. Silver Eggs floor lamps by Barbara Cosgrove.

Asked if he thinks blue can be too cold for interior design, Cohler said, "Not necessarily. The client wanted the room to have a sense of calm. And at what I call the "violet hour," which is my favorite time, at the end of the day, the light comes into the apartment from the west and the room is aglow."

A tight grouping of small mirrors is a surprising alternative to the standard big one. And a fishnet stocking cut and pulled across a box-shaped coffee table, then lacquered, gives a plain surface texture.

The library of designer Amanda Nisbet's Manhattan apartment. She lacquered the walls with custom-mixed green paint (based on Benjamin Moore's Forest Moss).

On the desktop, she grouped antique Asian glass vases from Downtown and enameled bowls from Reed & Barton beneath a portrait of Mick Jagger by David Montgomery from the Staley-Wise Gallery. Two mercury-glass lamps (old seltzer bottles) with black string shades frame the still life. Nisbet used the vignette to add touches of mustard yellow to the room.

My new bed dressings. I will have to take a pic of it in the daylight tomorrow - you don't get a good idea of the colours here. Turned out pretty good if I may say so myself - considering the pillows are silk/down filled and were $30 each, coverlet was $79 and throw was $29. (I need new nightstands, those Ikea ones are too scrawny looking - I'd rather something longer to hide the stupid outlets and all the cords.)
