It is a genus of about 500 species of flowering plants in the family Ranunculaceae. Members of the genus are known as buttercups, spearworts and water crowfoots. The familiar and widespread buttercup of gardens throughout Northern Europe (and introduced elsewhere) is the creeping buttercup Ranunculus repens, which has extremely tough and tenacious roots. Two other species are also widespread, the bulbous buttercup Ranunculus bulbosus and the much taller meadow buttercup Ranunculus acris. All three are often regarded as invasive weeds. Buttercups usually flower in the spring, but flowers may be found throughout the summer, especially where the plants are growing as opportunistic colonizers, as in the case of garden weeds. The water crowfoots (Ranunculus subgenus Batrachium), which grow in still or running water, are sometimes treated in a separate genus Batrachium. They have two different leaf types, thread-like leaves underwater and broader floating leaves. In some species, such as R. aquatilis, a third, intermediate leaf type occurs. Ranunculus species are used as food by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species including the Hebrew character and small angle shades. Some species are popular ornamental flowers in horticulture, with many cultivars selected for large and brightly coloured flowers. Buttercups are mostly perennial, but occasionally annual or biennial, herbaceous, aquatic or terrestrial plants, often with leaves in a rosette at the base of the stem. In many perennial species runners are sent out that will develop new plants with roots and rosettes at the distanced nodes. 12306

A daylily is a flowering plant in the genus Hemerocallis a member of the family Asphodelaceae, subfamily Hemerocallidoideae. Despite the common name, it is not in fact a lily. Gardening enthusiasts and horticulturists have long bred daylily species for their attractive flowers. Thousands of cultivars have been registered by local and international Hemerocallis societies. Daylilies are perennial plants, whose name alludes to its flowers, which typically last about a day. The flowers of most species open in early morning and wither during the following night, possibly replaced by another one on the same scape the next day. Some species are night-blooming. Daylilies are not commonly used as cut flowers for formal flower arranging, yet they make good cut flowers otherwise, as new flowers continue to open on cut stems over several days. Hemerocallis is native to Asia, primarily eastern Asia, including China, Korea, and Japan. This genus is popular worldwide because of the showy flowers and hardiness of many kinds. There are over 80,000 registered cultivars. Hundreds of cultivars have fragrant flowers, and more scented cultivars are appearing more frequently in northern hybridization programs. A female broad-billed hummingbird emerges from the shadows at Boyce Thompson Arboretum. If I were to choose my perfect bokeh, it would not be beige, but living in the desert there tends to be a bit of beige around. So you shoot what you see. At least the hummingbird brings a sparkle of green to the scene.

This is a yellow-rumped warbler which tend to fade to beige a bit in the winter, especially the females. The Riparian Preserve is kind of hopping with these warblers right now.

The Auburn Botanic Gardens are a botanical garden located in Auburn (a suburb of Sydney), New South Wales, Australia. It was established in 1977 and covers an area of 9.7 hectares. There are two lakes, a waterfall and bridges. Duck River winds through the garden. The garden is maintained by Cumberland Council. It is open daily, and there is a small entry fee on weekends. Für mich mit das schönste Motiv an der KBS 855 ist der Naabtalblick vom Plentl-Kreuz. Der Aufstieg ist steil, aber dann wird man mit einem schönen Ausblick auf Nabburg und die Landschaft der Oberpfalz belohnt. Am 05. September 2024 war es aufgrund aufziehender Bewölkung mal wieder spannend, ob sich das Foto wunschgemäß umsetzen läßt. Bei der Durchfahrt von 218 446 mit ihrem RE 4865 von Hof nach München HBF hat aber glücklicherweise alles gepasst und der leihweise Einsatz des Kemptner Schmuckstücks im ozeanblau-beigen Epoche IV Look war nach Idealvorstellung dokumentiert.
For me, one of the most beautiful motifs on the track between Regensburg and Hof is the Naabtal view from the so-called Plentl-Kreuz. The climb is steep, but then you are rewarded with a beautiful view of Nabburg and the Upper Palatinate countryside. On 5 September 2024, it was once again exciting to see whether the photo could be taken as desired due to the gathering clouds. Fortunately, when 218 446 passed through with its RE 4865 from Hof to Munich main station, everything worked out perfectly and the loaned use of the Kemptner gem in the ocean-blue-beige livery look was documented in the ideal way.
