It’s like living in the nightmare, which have all the signs of nightmare but one or two. You’re pinch your elbow. You could feel it. You couldn’t wake up. So, it’s not the nightmare. But it definitely is. You know the feeling. And now all of us, trapped in this nightmare, are desperately need to stop it from within.
In Russia it’s worse because of living in it more than 20 years. And our lives turned into a nightmare little by little so as not to be noticed. Teeny-weeny little nightmarish element in the more or less normal life. More nightmare but partly acceptable one. Even more but we get used to it. Just a little bit more but we got Stockholm syndrome and our sensitivity dropped and severely damaged. After all we had the good old Europe to skip in emergency and every time when we needed just one more breath of fresh air, please. As well as all the beautiful world. We had our blessed inner emigration, we have the cosmopolitan circle of our own. We and the nightmare system barely noticed each other. That’s the very point. The system had nothing to do with our true real lives. Like the street crime, TNCs and sects. We had the biggest thing after our loves – our arts. Our tops of our semi-private worlds. And than – February 24th, the full-scale nightmare and not any comfortably numbness and Stockholm tricks and all other mean psychological manipulation which is those bread and high don't work anymore. Even the last vestige of all the system, the instinct for self-preservation, sometimes is ready to give up and now telling from its depths: “It depends”.

According to my narrow understanding of failure and success, I considered all photos from that night as unuseable and kind of
lesson to myself. To work with a new camera made me feel excited for weeks, especially an H-Alpha astromodified one, that increases the visibility of hydrogen nebuleae in the night sky, that appear in a typical red colour. Just stupid to not setup the camera format from jpeg to raw - because one is a compressed format with low post possessing options while the raw format gives you all freedom to readjust your settings afterwards, especially the necessary whitebalance which is shifted into red due to the modification. Applause.
One year later, I realized the actual beauty of these Images and the great advantage of making mistakes in Photography. Somewhen, I started to play around with the settings of these very „uneditable“ files. The shift of colours remained, but the strange looking results became more beautiful and I started to like that style. Damn, now this is a lesson… I edited these images to get a solid natural looking foreground and the weird color mix of the sky wasn’t just in my responsibility. It’s just jpeg.
During that first night at Tenerife, in the Caldera de las Cañadas, I was haphazardly lost by the amount of possible photo compositions, but in the end I got attracted by a nice looking rock at the Minas de San José and used this as main subject for the night.
Furthermore, I released a Photography Documentary about Astrophotography at the Teide National Park in Tenerife including a Photo Series of tracked Milky Way Panos. If you want to see the complete Photo Series check:

I suppose that’s how the war is affecting us – as the dead man in the room. The war takes lives, whole or in pieces, not just from its direct victims – murdered, crippled, psychically traumatized, banished. I’m in another country, in thousands of kilometers from the immediate war zone. But I feel that it takes my life as well. How do you feel in these days, the 2nd month, my friends? I'd really appreciate it if you’ll share your sensations. As I mentioned earlier in this series, I have mixed, artistic and scientific, set of mind and now trying to use this explosive mix in my participation in this World Anti-War I.

I want to speak more about these dark times, to show, to see and to learn myself. To do something together to get out of this dark. Alive and sane if possible. Now my photo art become the “photo-diary from the other side”, “from the stolen country”.
