This beautiful image was taken by Louize on a very unbelievable and very cold and misty morning at Lake Grasmere in the Lake District, Cumbria, England, nothing much more to say but for me this is one of Louize's very best! Please let Louize know what you all think of it!!

P.S> This is real all I have done is to add contrast to parts of this image to bring the colours and highlights out more in PS.

No one can ever take your memories from you – each day is a new beginning, make good memories every day.

2020 marks the beginning of a new decade. Was so happy to find this Barred Owl the day after Christmas. Looking forward to another great year.

“New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings.” – Lao Tzu

" The whole world's broke and it ain't worth fixing

It's time to start all over, make a new beginning

There's too much pain, too much suffering

Let's resolve to start all over make a new beginning

Now don't get me wrong I love life and living

But when you wake up and look around at everything that's going down

All wrong

You see we need to change it now, this world with too few happy endings

We can resolve to start all over make a new beginning

Start all over

Start all over

Start all over

Start all over

The world is broken into fragments and pieces

That once were joined together in a unified whole

But now too many stand alone There's too much separation

We can resolve to come together in the new beginning

Start all over

Start all over

Start all over

Start all over

We can break the cycle - We can break the chain

We can start all over - In the new beginning

We can learn, we can teach

We can share the myths the dream the prayer

The notion that we can do better

Change our lives and paths

Create a new world

And Start all over

Start all over

Start all over

Start all over

The whole world's broke and it ain't worth fixing

It's time to start all over, make a new beginning

There's too much fighting, too little understanding

It's time to stop and start all over

Make a new beginning ... "

This was shot looking back from the end of a dead-end road. Sometimes it pays to take those roads seldom taken.

""Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.""

Quote - Winston Churchill

~~The beginning of a new dune:

A dune is a mound of sand formed by the wind, usually along the beach or in a desert. Dunes form when wind blows sand into a sheltered area behind an obstacle. Dunes grow as grains of sand accumulate.

Every dune has a windward side and a slipface. A dunes windward side is the side where the wind is blowing and pushing material up. A dunes slip face is simply the side without wind. A slipface is usually smoother than a dunes windward side.~~

Dear friends, thank you all for your views, comments and faves!

Everything that has a beginning has an ending.

Make your peace with that and all will be well.

This was not the beginning of the sunrise sequence but it just before the mist and the fog began to burn away! This was in the sequence that I posted some time ago called Lake Eerie! This was my favorite moment of the entire morning! Hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead! Taken on Armand bayou in the vicinity of Bay Area Park!

With the new year fast approaching, I am filled with a sense of anticipation and am wondering what 2009 will bring. A New Year's hug to all of my Flickr friends!!

Many viewers have commented that The Guardian Building (originally The Union Trust Company Building) reminded them of a church.

This picture shows approximately half of the bank lobby on the main floor. Imagine the original bank building with 60-90 bank teller cages lining the entire length of both sides of this "nave". The ceiling was composed of a 3/4 inch (1.9cm) of horsehair and coated with a layer of plaster cement. Then, a canvas layer was applied, and painted with designs reminiscent of the patterns of Navajo rugs. This was a sound-deadening system.

The "altar piece" ( I suppose) was the three-story mural of the map of the lower peninsula of Michigan. Highlighted were the major Michigan moneymakers of the1890s to 1920s: mining, manufacturing, lumber, fishing, commerce, and agriculture. It was completed in 1929, unfortunately the year of the beginning of "The Great Depression".

This superbly decorated Art-Deco bank building was nicknamed "The Cathedral of Finance." So, if the earlier pictures reminded you of a church (reprised in the first comment below) --you were very observant : -)

It's the coldest beginning of spring ever since the start of weather records in 1881 here.

Blue tit in the falling snow.

The rapeseed blossom is over, now the grain ears are beginning to glow yellow in the evening light. There are a few days a year when the sun slides down the Lilienstein as it sets - like here.

With all of the negatives going on in the world, it was refreshing to find this beautiful female Broad-billed Hummingbird, sitting proudly in her nest.

So often it feels that something is ending as we cling to loved ones and cherished times. For others, the same moment comes as a new beginning whether it be filled with anticipation or anxiety. Lost in the entangled regrets, memories, dreams and fears is that only the present is tangible and available now.
