I don't feed the squirels around here, but many others do. I get to reap the benefits of them more or less being fearless of humans. I can't help but think this little guy is begging for a peanut.

Majestueuse, sauvage, à couper le souffle, les qualificatifs ne manquent pas pour évoquer la pointe de Beg an Fry surplombant l'unique belle plage de Guimaëc.
Cette pointe offre aux promeneurs un large panorama sur toute la Baie.
Haut lieu de la résistance en 1944, on retrouve d'ailleurs sur l'esplanade proche de la plage de Vénizella, une stèle qui évoque cette sombre période de l'histoire.
Aujourd'hui c'est surtout en endroit connu des randonneurs et autres amoureux de la nature qui arpentent le GR 34, entre ajoncs et bruyères le long de sentiers escarpés aux dénivelés impressionnants. C'est une partie de la portion du GR 34 élue "GR® préféré des Français en 2017" et ce n'est pas sans raisons. C'est la partie la plus naturelle et la plus préservée, loin de toute route côtière que la municipalité a refusé de construire.
La nature y est abrupte et préservée, et surtout somptueusement belle, tombant à pic dans la mer.

The father hesitates to feed the demanding juvenile bluebird which has grown nearly larger than him. At this point the juveniles are able to feed themselves but they don’t mind a little help.

Street photography from Glasgow, Scotland.
Captured in September 2019 during an exercise I gave to my Street Photography Workshop for them to look for different angles and perspectives as we walked around. Of course I ensured that the person begging in the shot was suitably anonymised so that the image is for narrative and is not in any way exploitative.
I'm thinking of the millions of people currently displaced across Ukraine. Over 2 million displaced out of the country but countless millions more ran out of their homes to another part of the country, all while being under artillery and rocket fire. I cannot begin to imagine the depths of pain, despair and loss that they are feeling.
I'm also thinking of those displaced and homeless throughout the United Kingdom as a result of poverty driven by the cost of living crisis and Government policy over the past decade. My own energy prices have risen 129% overnight.
I'm also thinking of those displaced out of their homes, steadings and traditional nomadic routes in Ethiopia right now. Years and years of lower than average rainfall are now leading to a famine of the levels not seen since 1985. The building humanitarian disaster is expected to be worse than that thanks, in no small part, to the climate emergency.
We all need water, food and shelter - these basics that are essential for life should be a given in our modern world.
Today I am thinking of those who have been or are being displaced from their homes. I wish I could help more.
"Beg for forgiveness..." is what to do if you "happen" to end up in a closed greenhouse because you didn't see the "Closed" sign on the door (....because all you could see were the tulips and hyacinths blooming beyond it...) at the Lyman Conservatory.
But no need this time! This is an exquisite little Fritillaria assyriaca in the "tunnel" in the cold holding room waiting for its debut. (Thanks, Steve!)
There were cars lined up at the conservatory yesterday even though the 2015 Spring Bulb Show doesn't open until Saturday, March 7th. Seems we're all ready for Spring... :)
