Active Assignment Weekly: May 3 - May 10: Read a Book
I have been wanting to take a picture like this for a while now and this assignment gave me the excuse.
WIT: I took some pictures while my wife was reading one of my son's favorite books to him before bedtime. Used my strobe, bounced off the ceiling for lighting. I had to shoot quick because he is a little squirmy.
This is little Bedtime Millie that I recently finished. Her cap, dressing gown and slippers are all removeable and she is a sweet little bear - only around 4 inches seated.
My bedtime routine includes eye drops, lip salve, handcream and a chapter or two of a book.

Compared to this photo, this holiday was a spur of the moment thing. This photo was sketched out and planned in May. I had to find an old torch, and a book I wanted to use – not essential, but it is a book that I like – and then I had to figure out who and where. Dad says he is not overly keen on it, but it turned out how I wanted it to, and as that is a rarity, I am happy with it.
And many thanks to my brother for going through the agonising pain of holding a very light duvet up. He made it known that it was not an easy job.
Little Big Man in The Blanket ... A while ago I said that everyone with four points or less would be Little Big Man. Nothing doing, This is most definitely Little Big Man. There is something about him, and not only to me. He is not afraid of much. I see him try bucks that are twice his size. He lets me get right up to him, most Bucks his size would be gone in an instant. But the most telling thing is the way that the Alphas treat him. Scaredy Cat lets him be in his house. He will chase any other Buck away in a minute. I also have seen Little Big Man shadow Azazel. But even more odd is that he spends the vast majority of his time solo. He without doubt is destined for greatness. Here he is in the field I call the blanket, where many deer go to sleep. The Blanket is just east of Scaredy Cat's House, and at the far end of the field is a big dead tree and fallen logs and branches mingled with the grass. That I call the head of the table because the Alphas like to claim it once in a while to show dominance over the others. To the south of all of this there is a big valley that is at times their main social venue (more so in the past). I call that The Party Place. Scattered in the immediate vicinity of all of this there are five thick safe havens of dead fallen trees and debris for them all to hide in. That is my favorite area. It neighbors four other areas that have their own quirks and tricks.

Special thanks to my friend minarai for giving me his tripod as a gift before leaving Ghana. These wouldn't have been possible without you ;)
The sun was going down. The loon parent was catching and feeding one last tidbit to its baby. Serene 'up north' atmosphere.
I’m not so good at telling good bedtime stories, but I can give you an unforgettable bedtime adventure…

Again, thanks so much, Stef, for our Affreusement Mignon dress! I think that the YoSD size looks darling on Blythe! AND thank you, Tricia, for the sweet Henriette Jardin dress that Mia is wearing! I love these old-fashioned little girl looks!

As dusk settled, so did this tiny flutterbuddy – possibly a pearl crescent. Such delicate patterns on the wing undersides!
