While a wild impossible race to get Wolfpack Beastmaster before scalpers is going on in my city, I think it's a good time to discuss insane Lego prices on a secondary market. :)

There are some very cool rare characters and sets which a lot of people would like to have, but over time it becomes impossible to obtain them, because the price skyrockets. One and a half year ago, when I needed a lot of money for a serious reason, I sold my second Revan, still sealed, for a price higher than I got for selling sealed 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay. I'm not quite complaining, it really helped me back then. For the curious, now the minimum price for a sealed polybag on BrickLink is around $274 (€265). But just imagine, a one (1) minifigure with the price higher than a set with 2545 pieces! How many people would never be able to get a beloved character in their collection because of the price? :(

There are other rare characters I need to find, they don't cost that much, but their prices are still insane. And the aforementioned Beastmaster was already sold out in shops in a first few hours (somewhere even right in the first minutes) after the new series has dropped, and the scalpers want a price x2 higher, which is quite a problem when you need a large pack of wolves like I do...

Bloggers who create lists like "the sets you can invest your money in to sell later" are also part of the problem. This is a fun hobby, it should be affordable, stop making it your next investing project!

Sorry, I couldn't make the scales look fancy enough for skilled builders (don't have certain parts), I just wanted it to be functional to convey the message. :)

Also built as my second contribution to #timeforcrab 2024! This year we invite all builders across the community and the globe to participate in a month-long open crab collab, spanning June 22 to July 22. The task is simple:

1. Build a crab

2. Post your crab with the tag #timeforcrab

3. Repeat!

Red's a smart girl - when she found a hungry wolf in the woods she gave him yummy treats and made a friend for life! (This wolf loves cookies!!! ) When they met the Beastmaster the wolf warned him off with a growl and offered him a cookie. Another friendship was made but that's a story for another day . . . The End! 😉

Time for a little break from all the nonstop fighting-action. Let's take a stroll through the snowy mountains and meet Ziara Kieselborg, the dwarven huntress and beastmaster. Although living in the cold mountains her entire life has made her as hard as a rock, she is a kind and helpful person -and a rather funny one too, although she doesn't look like it.

I used a piece of bark which I decorated, set it in my garden on top of Ajuga plants and others...

turned on the face mister for the 'fog' effect.

Enjoy, it was so fun and easy!

Don't touch strange pieces.......

Male Beastmaster: Look at that! I'll bet it's valuable. We should steal it!

Female Beastmaster: No way, I'm not going near that. You do it.....

And now I only have one Beastmaster minifig... lol.

I'm kidding. No minifigs were harmed in taking this photo. They were very intrigued by the Gelatinous Cube but fortunately they didn't get too close.

The Kanni also known as the Maiden's Beastmaster, is a rare indigenous South Indian sighthound breed of dog found in the state of Tamil Nadu. Their native breeding tract is located around villages in the Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi districts. The breed is used mainly for coursing game. "Kanni" refers to the black and tan and black and sable varieties, while the variety which is one colour is known as the Chippiparai.

This Toa has studied for decades in the art of training and communicating with animals. Arna wields a stun staff which can be used to subdue beasts.

Like what you're seeing? You can win this MOC in this year’s Brickscalibur! Consider entering the Perspective Matters category and this might just be yours! Will you join us?

This one is a tribute to my former mentor Jordan – this ranger with his red panda companion is a DnD character that he used to play that later was turned into a piece of concept art by my talented collague Wes Talbot. I've been wanting to build this one for a while now and now I had the opportunity!

Deep in the woods lives a peaceful group of moths, worshipers of Eilistraee full of monks, clerics, and paladins.

Unfortunately, being peaceful has drawbacks, especially when the wasp tribes are fond of raiding and pillaging...

I may have modified the original Series 27 minifig just a little bit :-) I found the head on Bricks and Pieces a few months ago but I'm not sure what set it comes in. Bricklink doesn't show it in any sets.....

Centenary Square, Birmingham. One of several operators of Raging Bull, the mechanical beast that starred in the Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games. He was happy to chat to interested spectators after a “steaming up” in the square. The bull will remain there for a few more weeks before being transferred to an indoor location for permanent display. But I suspect it’s steaming up days are over so I’m glad I managed to see it in full raging glory…examples can be seen in my album 2022 Birmingham.

The Odan Project

www.kickstarter.com/projects/mikedoyle/the-odan-project-a...

I've just launched this new work as a kickstarter to help finish it. There is a nice video that shows this moc from many views.

This will be an epic series of sculptures built entirely out of Lego, themed around the imaginary world of Odan. Each Kickstarter project in this series will help to support one very large sculpture. Pieces will range from castle-type capital cities – such as this first Kickstarter work – to future works which cover fantastical nations of evil, beauty, exotica, spiritual/cultural centers and much more. Each model will be micro scale but super sized at around 6' high. I estimate perhaps 100k-150k pieces to build it.

YOU tell ME how to evolve this city.

What you will see in the video and as the main picture on Kickstarter is only what I've currently finished – which is about 1/2 or so the final piece. The final piece will be much taller and fuller than pictured here so far. As I finish this work, the city will eventually tower above its current height and to each side of where the city currently stands.

Your funding will help determine how the capital city K'al Yne will evolve. More funding at the levels of the Farm Manor, Miller, Bailiff and Landlord packages will evolve the village area. The Priest, Bishop, Seer and Disciple packages raise the consciousness of this kingdom. Bureaucrat and higher priced royal/noble packages will build up the more spectacular parts of the city. The Beastmaster and General increase the military side of the city. Each funding will effect the storyline of K'al Yne. It should be a lot of fun to see how this grows! By the way, if you think of another package or object that would be cool to create, let me know and I might do it. :)

In order to make these models as exceptional as I believe they need to be, I need your help in acquiring Lego materials for the build. I would expect this work to go above 100,000 - 150,000 Lego pieces. While I have many pieces, I don't have this many on hand and often there are special needs for hundreds and thousands of identical bits that I don't have. Lego bits are only a few cents each (on average 6-10¢). But, when buying 50,000k or more bits, it adds up very quickly. Additionally, money donated will go to a few smaller matters, like a larger table to build on and tripod to photograph from. Money will also go towards paper, ink, printing and packaging/shipping.

Thanks so much for your support at any level!!

The most beautiful women in TV and Movie History now become Barbie Collector Dolls created by acclaimed re-paint Artist Donna Brinkley.

Victoria Leigh Blum (born October 15, 1955), professionally recognized as Tanya Roberts, is an American actress best known for her role as Julie Rogers on the fifth and final season of Charlie's Angels (1980–1981) and as Midge Pinciotti on That '70s Show (1998–2001).

She starred in the films The Beastmaster, A View to a Kill, and Sheena. Roberts was groomed as a Hollywood sex symbol during the early 1980s.

Blum was born in The Bronx of Irish and Jewish descent. Her father was an fountain pen salesman. Her parents divorced when she was a teenager.[1] She lived with her mother in Toronto for several years, where she started formulating a photo portfolio and laying plans for a career. At age 15, she abandoned her studies to marry and lived for a while hitch-hiking across the United States, until her mother-in-law annulled the union.

She returned to New York City and became a fashion and cover model. After meeting a psychology student, Barry Roberts (while waiting in line for a movie), she proposed to him in a subway station and they were soon married. While Barry pursued a career as a screenwriter, she began to study at the Actors Studio with Lee Strasberg and Uta Hagen under the name Tanya Roberts.

Her career began as a model in TV ads for Ultra Brite, Clairol and Cool Ray sunglasses. She played serious roles in the Off-Broadway productions, Picnic and Antigone. She also supported herself as an Arthur Murray dance instructor. Her film debut was the 1975 thriller, Forced Entry. This was followed in 1976 by The Yum-Yum Girls, a comedy.

In 1977, as her husband was securing his own screenwriting career, the couple moved to Hollywood. The following year, Roberts participated in the drama, Fingers. Roles in the 1979 cult-movie, Tourist Trap, Racket and California Dreaming followed. Roberts was featured in several television pilots that were never picked up: Zuma Beach (a 1978 comedy); Pleasure Cove (1979); and Waikiki (1980).

In 1980, Roberts was chosen from some two-thousand candidates to replace Shelley Hack in the television series, Charlie's Angels. Roberts played the sultry Julie Rogers, a streetwise fighter who used her fists more than her gun. Before the season's premiere, Roberts on a issue of People Magazine with the headline: "Is the Jiggle Up?: In the Wake Low Ratings, Will Tanya Roberts Save Charlie's Angels from Rerun Heaven?"

Nevertheless, the series moved around constantly on its schedule and soon fell to an extreme low in the ratings. So not as People had predicted, Tanya Roberts didn't help save Charlie's Angels from cancellation. However producers of the show reported if Roberts had entered the show the previous season the series would've been back for a sixth season. Today Roberts has been cited as a likeable beauty to that of former Charlie's Angels star Farrah Fawcett.

[2] She was featured on the February 9, 1981 cover of People Magazine magazine to distance herself from her Charlie's Angels image. Afterward she was offered more ambitious projects.[3][4]

[edit] Post-Angels

In 1982, Roberts played Kiri in The Beastmaster. She was featured in a nude pictorial in Playboy to help promote the movie, appearing on that issue's October 1982 cover. In 1983, Roberts filmed the Italian-made adventure fantasy film Hearts and Armour (also known as Paladini-storia d'armi e d'amori and Paladins—the story of love and arms), based on the medieval novel, Orlando Furioso. She played the role of Velda, a buxom secretary to private detective, Mike Hammer, in the television movie, Murder Me, Murder You. The two-part pilot spawned the syndicated television series, Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer. She declined to continue the role in the Mike Hammer series so she could work on her next project, Sheena: Queen of the Jungle. The movie was a box office and critical disaster, garnering her a nomination for "Worst Actress" at the Razzie Awards.

Her subsequent appearance as Bond girl, Stacey Sutton, a well-educated and articulate geologist, in A View to a Kill (1985), which provided her a number of scenes with Roger Moore's James Bond. She again found herself nominated by the critics for a Razzie Award.[5] Later films in the 1980s included Night Eyes, an erotic thriller; Body Slam (1987), an action movie set in the professional wrestling world; and Purgatory, a movie about a woman wrongfully imprisoned in Africa.

[edit] 1990s–present

In 1991, Roberts starred in the erotic thriller, Inner Sanctum (1991), alongside Margaux Hemingway. In 1992, she played Kay Egan in Sins of Desire. She appeared on the cable TV series, Hot Line, in 1994; and in the video game, The Pandora Directive, in 1996.

In 1998, she took the role of Midge Pinciotti on the successful, long-running television sitcom, That '70s Show. Roberts claimed to E! True Hollywood Story that she left the series in 2001 because her husband, Barry Roberts, had become terminally ill. Barry Roberts died in 2006. In 2008, Tanya Roberts wrote the foreword to the book, The Q Guide to Charlie's Angels.

I made my Moria Orc dream team using Lego and BrickWarriors weapons and armor. I swiched out the old legs with Chima Croc legs for a more detailed look.
