Croatia is a country in Southeast Europe. It borders Slovenia to the northwest, Hungary to the northeast, Serbia to the east, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro to the southeast, sharing a maritime border with Italy. Croatia was part of the former Yugoslavia. A population of 4 million, most of whom are Catholics. Zagreb is the capital. Balanced between the Balkans and Central Europe, this country has been passed between rival kingdoms, empires and republics for thousands of years. If there is an advantage to this ongoing disruption, it is in the rich cultural legacy each has left behind. From Venetian palaces, Napoleonic fortresses, Slavic churches, Viennese mansions to socialist sculptures. But most attraction is the coastline with the remarkable clarity of the water and white pebbly beach. Despite being the fastest rising holiday destination in Europe in the past decade, Croatia still doesn't feel overrun by tourists. There are long sandy and winding beaches too, perfect for lazy days. Croatia is a beautiful country to discover many different landscapes.
Neretva is a large river in the South of Croatia. Its mouth is located in a big valley quite unique and different to the otherwise rocky topography of Croatia. It’s beautiful, and together with a funnel effect from two large islands, most likely why this place is blessed with a very steady and reliable thermal wind in the summer. ‘Neretva is paradise! White sandy beaches and tangerine trees everywhere. It’s a picture postcard destination with good winds, epic flat water on the inside and small waves and the best Croatian kiteboarding spot, ideal for all levels of kitesurfers.
Kroatië is een land in Zuidoost-Europa. Het grenst aan Slovenië in het noordwesten, Hongarije in het noordoosten, Servië in het oosten, Bosnië-Herzegovina en Montenegro in het zuidoosten en deelt een maritieme grens met Italië. Kroatië maakte deel uit van het voormalige Joegoslavië. Een bevolking van 4 miljoen, van wie de meesten katholiek zijn. Zagreb is de hoofdstad. In evenwicht tussen de Balkan en Centraal-Europa, wordt dit land al duizenden jaren doorgegeven tussen rivaliserende koninkrijken, rijken en republieken. Als er een voordeel is voor deze voortdurende verstoring, zit het in de rijke culturele erfenis die elk heeft achtergelaten. Van Venetiaanse paleizen, Napoleontische forten, Slavische kerken, Weense herenhuizen tot socialistische sculpturen. Maar de meeste attractie is de kustlijn met de opmerkelijke helderheid van het water en het witte kiezelstrand. Ondanks dat het de afgelopen tien jaar de snelst stijgende vakantiebestemming in Europa is, voelt Kroatië zich nog steeds niet overspoeld door toeristen. Er zijn ook lange zandige en kronkelende stranden, perfect voor luie dagen. Kroatië is een prachtig land om veel verschillende landschappen te ontdekken. Neretva is een grote rivier in het zuiden van Kroatië en mondt uit in een grote vallei die vrij uniek is en anders dan de anders rotsachtige topografie van Kroatië. Het is prachtig, en samen met een trechtereffect van twee grote eilanden, is deze plek hoogstwaarschijnlijk gezegend met een zeer stabiele en betrouwbare thermische wind in de zomer. ‘Neretva is een paradijs! Witte zandstranden en overal mandarijnbomen. Het is een ansichtkaartbestemming met goede wind, vlak water aan de binnenkant en kleine golven en de beste Kroatische kiteboardplek, ideaal voor alle niveaus van kitesurfers.

In hindsight, I wonder what these three kettles stood on the grill for. To fire extinguishing they are a little too small and unwieldy. But obviously nobody drank tea here in the beach bar ;-)

Ich frage mich im Nachhinein, wofür diese drei Wasserkessel dort auf dem Grill standen. Zum Feuerlöschen sind sie ein wenig zu klein und unhandlich. Aber Tee hat hier in der Strandbar offensichtlich keiner getrunken ;-)

Looking forward to next month because February is the Whooping Crane festival in Port Aransas. There are just a little over 800 of the left in the world, so it kind of a big deal. Plus, it's a good reason to go to the coast.

Usually now I would dig up something from my archives to post so that i don't get people bored with photos from the same place that might look similar too. The good thing about Aruba is that even though it's pretty much a desert island with turquoise/aqua colored water at its beaches, so the scenery is not super diverse, it offers some photo opportunities that will add variety in your photos. The fact that it has some cool looking abandoned buildings worked out, at least for me. I found this abandoned beach bar when I was walking at the end of Baby beach (my previous photo) and trying to get to Rodger's beach. I was expecting to see cactuses, divi trees but not this. According to google, its name was "Lost Paradise" and I can assure you that it is in place that is like paradise and I am sure if it's haunted, it will be a true ghost keeper as ghosts would never want to leave from there.

J’adore Mandelieu-la-Napoule cette charmante ville située sur la Côte d’Azur, entre Cannes et Théoule-sur-Mer. Cette destination offre une combinaison parfaite de détente, de culture et de nature.
Le Château de la Napoule est un lieu emblématique de la ville. Il mérite d’être visité d’autant plus que depuis les jardins sur ses remparts vous aurez une vue remarquable.
Le Sentier du Littoral offre des vues spectaculaires sur la mer Méditerranée.
Ensuite profitons des plages de sable ou de galets, et d’une visite dans la vieille ville pittoresque de Mandelieu. J’ai adoré la décoration de la gare et vous ?

Recorriendo por las playas después de una semana de mucha lluvia, los chinchorros o chiringuitos se preparan para recibir a los turistas locales como extranjeros.

A view across the mouth of the estuary from the forts towards the beach at Cala D'or, Majorca. This was our first visit to the resort of Cala D'or and the resort has numerous little coves like this within walking distance of the centre,some busier than others but all very beautiful.
Though we were there in May it was maybe not as busy or as hot as it can get in high season.
