took some time to edit more of my photos from our visit in March 2018 to Tin Valley and Big Bend National Park and found this beauty.
i’m still amazed at the quantity of stars in view and the depth of the dark in this part of west Texas. makes me jealous of our ancient ancestors who could gaze up at the universe from anywhere…

🌌milky way arch over tin valley - terlingua texas🌌
i was hoping to be able to capture the full milky way arch while recently staying at tin valley retro rentals in terlingua texas outside of big bend national park. this is a panorama view of the mountains, moon rise and milky way. it is a total of 4 images merged together in order to get the full arch of the milky way. i'm pleased with the image considering it is my first full arch photo.
the milky way is accompanied by jupiter, mars, a blue giant star (spica – to the right of the image and unidentified towards the middle) and light from the rising moon.

v | break free from confinement or control.
rainwater falling on the ozarks has soaked into the ground for millions of years. as it moved though cracks in the limestone bedrock, it dissolved the stone and slowly widened the cracks to form blanchard springs caverns. the water remained in the caverns until surface erosion carved valleys and allowed the water to escape forming the pictured waterfall.

I waited for the tide to start to come in, in order to capture this photo. The horn only spouts as high tide comes into the chasm and when she does spout you can hear the ocean roar with her power.

63/365: texas iceburgs at sunset
after a busy day of photoshoots, i took a moment with the family to enjoy this gorgeous sunset from Murrell Park on Grapevine Lake. i was expecting more sky color, but am satisfied with what mother nature painted. the texas iceburgs (aka rocks) create a visually pleasing composition for the viewers eye…. it allows one to wander around the landscape and enjoy what it felt like to be inside my minds eye – in that moment – that moment as the sunset and nature became alive.

n | a small flowerless green plant that lacks true roots, growing in low carpets or rounded cushions in damp habitats and reproducing by means of spores released from stalked capsules.
i spent last week up in Arkansas chasing waterfalls. this waterfall photo is from the Blanchard Springs area. i hiked up the falls in order to capture the beautiful green moss which rendered like a carpet on the side of the cliff face. the hike was slippery and steep, but worth it.

The majestic beauty which is reveled by fresh fallen snow is a winter wonderland to the senses.
Seeing fresh fallen snow blanketing the ground, the trees and rocks – elegance.
Tasting large snow flurries as they descend on to your lips – euphoric.
Hearing the snow crash down into the creek and melt away to nothing – in an instant.
Smelling snow, breathing deep… the cool fresh air – of life – of happiness.
Touching as little as possible, leaving little footprint so the next adventurer can feel what I have felt – on the inside.

☂️cascade🌊
a long exposure photo of upper indian falls in arkansas. i finally found time today to edit some photographs from my recent trip to arkansas to chase waterfalls. for this photo i had to jump to the middle of the waterfall pond in order to get the composition i desired. my boots got wet, but that is what waterproofing is for. this beautiful multi-dimensional cascade of the waterfall was breathtaking and after shooting, i had to take a few moments to just enjoy the music, the air and the view.

🌔moon over ocean🌊
captured this photo of the moon shinning over the ocean after driving 14 hours from texas to panama beach city florida and still being wired on mountain dew.
i was not expecting the moon to photograph in the starlight manner it did – it was a nice surprise. the blue illumination to the left was provided by the night club next door to the resort – i know i know bioluminescent phytoplankton.
i took some time to just take in this view. as it was just beautiful and serene and magnificent. enjoy!

i had so much fun this weekend exploring terrane and subterranean areas around Grapevine Lake at Murrell park. the wonderful thing about this lake is each time i visit the terrane is different due to shifting lake water levels. this makes for a fun adventure each time and exploring never gets boring. thanks to my dual assistants (wink) this weekend for their help with capturing this shot. although the sky was boring, we found some alluring rock structures and caves. this spot will be fun to shoot again with clouds in the sky.

I adventured out to Murrell Park on Lake Grapevine this afternoon to refresh, re-balance and do what I love… take photos. The fog added a unique vibe to the normally noisy background, the air was fresh and the water beautiful. I scouted out a location which would provide the viewer a with a fragment of my experience and this was the final result.

there is nothing more beautiful than the way the ocean 🌊refuses to stop kissing the shore line, no matter how many times it is sent away.
the tide was fairly low when we visited the beach and it was quite a walk to reach the ocean. the wind was blowing the ocean water inland to the left and right of where i setup and created a beautiful misty haze. the land and lighthouse towards the center of the photograph are Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area and Yaquina Head Lighthouse.

2019 | the year of contemplation
2018 was the year of intent....
| when i was spending time with family, i was present in those moments and memories.
| when i was engaging in photography... i was mindful of the moment, shooting with intent and purpose.
| when we traveled, it was with a plan and direction.
| when i gave of myself, it was because i truly wanted to and with my best heart and intent.
| when we made decisions, it was with a deep intent; the biggest of this year being the decision to delay our move.
this word.. intent. changed my life over the course of 2018.
- it allowed me to be more aware of self, selflessness and selfishness.
- it helped bring me back to purpose when i would lose my way or get stuck in the mundane of life's chores.
- it made me more aware and conscience of the universe, my actions and my reactions.
- it helped me to see outside myself... and realize it isn't always about 'me.'
- it allowed me to connect to people on a deeper consciousness of love and light.
- it raised my frequency and opened my mind to the concept of 'living.'
2019 will be the year of contemplation.. i desire to go deeper.

The day this photo was captured is a day I never want to forget … it was a day I saw ‘home.’ The landscape and scenery out on the Oregon coast is like nothing I’ve ever experienced… the feel, the people, the views, the vibe… it all feels right, right like it never has before…
Photo captured in Siuslaw National Forest – Cape Perpetua Scenic Area – Yachats, Oregon. Shown to the left is Thor’s Well (with a person for perspective). I waited an hour for the tide to start to come in, in order to capture this photo. I desired to create endless waterfalls gushing from the lava rocks as the ocean shouted with her power.

on our second night camping at Colorado Bend State Park we were joined by several Buddhist monks. it was an honor to be able to capture them down by the Colorado River and feel their spiritual presence and calming vibe. this was the same night we were flooded in and the Colorado River soon rose significantly higher then what is captured in this photograph.

we took advantage of the cool weather yesterday morning and went to Murrell Park for a hike.
This is my first long exposure since May. I’m happy with the results and it felt good to be back outside and behind the landscape lens.

took time yesterday to enjoy a beautiful sunset out at the lake. the water was so choppy that it was hard to get that smooth look, but i managed to capture this shot right after the sunlight faded into the night and time became lost…

We sat on the top deck of the Rondavous Land Yacht at Tin Valley Retro Rentals in Terlingua Texas and just took time to observe – to use all our senses and feel the essence of this place.
To see the universe in front of our own eyes –
To know we exist in this place –
To feel alive –
To see the constellations in such vivid detail –
To see the sky light up with the universe – there is no feeling to match this natural high of living!

… and wow did the universe surrender. after a fierce force of mother Nature in the shape of a thunderstorm in a tent Tuesday afternoon (lightning as close as 2 miles), we were than rewarded that evening by Nature with this magnificent display intricate detail and purpose. like a rip in the sky which we share with our ancestors…. that brings up my frequency and vibrations… a feeling of delight as I observe outer-space before my eyes and share in the otherworldly experience of the Milky Way.
