Nearly two years ago, I got my first job in Canada. For a few months I worked as a QA tester at the same company my husband still works for. The short time I was there I worked on testing two games, Battle Rapper (the one pictured above) and TNA Wrestling.

This was the first time that I worked as a QA tester. It was fun, but very tiring at times, and very redundant. If I didn't get enough sleep the previous night, it was difficult to stay on task, and not almost fall asleep at my desk. The biggest reward would come from finding a weird bug here and there. There was one time, in TNA, I was playing though the set of chapters in the game that I was given that day to test, and during one of the cut scenes where your character would acquire either face or heel experience, I noticed that the exp totals shown at the end of the cut scene did not match the numbers shown throughout the scene. Yeah, seems kinda minor, and most people probably wouldn't have noticed it, but if you were counting your exp throughout, like if you were trying to just get all the face exp and no heel exp, and came up with +24 exp, then at the end the total showed 22, it might throw you off just a bit. Finding a bug sometimes before your fellow co-workers can be such a rush, and I know that some people do get pretty competitive with how many bugs they find in a day. To me, since I'm a competitive person by nature, it was very rewarding.

The payoff for all the work I did? Having my name in the credits for some bragging rights, and a nice spot on my resume. I wish I was able to secure a full time position with the company, but with my husband already working there, it was against company policy to have both of us working at the same times. Ah well.
