For Macro Monday - Closed
I made these lavender bath salts as gifts, using lavender flowers and lavender essential oil from Hitchin Lavender. They smell lovely. I may just have to keep a jar for myself. HMM
Macro Monday - Bathroom
I usually set up my shots and use a tripod but just placed these on the bathroom window sill and took it hand held...standards are slipping!
The bath salts jar is approximately 1x2 inches. It's one of the little travel bath supplies from the B&B we stayed in Apollo Bay on our trip to Australia and I thought it would be a handy photo prop. Behind it is a scented candle, you'll just have to take my word that it smells wonderful and looks too good to light. HMM

My hand made bath salts with a cute little scoop that was given to me today. I couldn't wait to use it as a prop.
This is my photo for Macro Mondays - in a bottle. This is a pretty bottle of bath salts.
It is also my photo for the 52 in 2018 Challenge - #22 -Something smelly. It smells divine.
29th January 2021:
Loosing the will to do very much at the moment. Everything I'm trying to do, isn't doing what I want it to. Even this photo isn't quite right, the focusing is off, but it will have to do. Can't be bothered to do a retake.
Taken as part of my Looking close on Friday photo, which you can see here : www.flickr.com/photos/44506883@N04/50887201758/in/datepos...
Bath salts that I hadn't realised I'd got. Think it's time for a long treaty soak in a hot bath. 🛀
Today is : National Big Wig Day™ - nationaldaycalendar.com/national-big-wig-day-last-friday-...
It's also : Puzzle Day - www.timeanddate.com/holidays/fun/puzzle-day
Which isn't silly, but I'm not doing one at the moment.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites.
!/31: October 2019: A month in 31 pictures
I have a house guest until the weekend so it will be a difficult start to the challenge...who am I kidding, the whole month will be difficult but I am going to give it my best shot.
Looking forward to seeing old faces and new...enjoy the challenge everyone.
The theme for "Looking Close on Friday" for the 7th of June is "cotton buds", which I found to be a great challenge. Anyone who follows my photostream knows that I love and collect 1:12 size miniatures which I photograph in realistic scenes. The artifice of recreating in minute detail items in 1:12 scale always amazes me, and it’s amazing how the eye can be fooled. In order to produce something a little bit different with my cotton buds this week, I have decided to pose them with a couple of bathroom essentials from my 1:12 miniatures collection: namely some lemon bath salts, some aspirin tablets and a jar of cotton wool, all of which were made by Little Things Dollhouse Miniatures in Lancashire with great attention to detail of the labels. I hope you like my choice for this week’s theme, and that it makes you smile.
6/5/2012 I shot this at the spot where Rudy Eugene was killed while eating the face off of 65-year-old Ronald E. Poppo on the Macarthur causeway Miami Florida.
I spoke to a local Haitian who told me "Rudy had people walking with him" he was suggesting demons possessed the man before the bizarre attack.
Regardless of what happened Rudy was loved by his family and friends, they are hurting right now.
Poppo's family thought he died 30 years ago, he's in a world of hurt right now, I sincerely hope he does well.
I've been on a low-salt diet since last year, so this is the only kind of salt that I have aplenty: the sweet-smelling kind.

For Macro mondays - Texture
Also #24 for Project 52 - A moment of stillness in a busy world...I realise this will fit this theme very loosely but it is relaxing bath salts, it's a moment of stillness as it's a still life and I am very busy so I'm afraid it is going to have to do for the theme.
Textured bath salts on a textured face cloth, it's a very small travel size tub of bath salts, picked up on our travels as I thought it would make a useful photo prop. I added some sea salt for even more texture. HMM
Life we be less hectic in a couple of weeks so hopefully I will be able to catch up properly then.
Looking close...on Friday: Between
I've included Barefoot Venus beauty and bath products in photos before...gorgeous scents in gorgeous packaging. Made in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada.
Rose: Help me get in the tub. I can't move in this thing.
Aria: It will feel much better once you're in the water.
Rose: Are you sure we're allowed to use Sindy's fancy Laura Ashley bath salts?
Aria: Mermaids don't ask so many questions.
Rose: The Little Mermaid Ariel asked a lot of questions and were greatly rewarded.
Aria: The Disney version yes. The real Ariel died a horrible death!
Rose: From asking too many questions?
Aria: There you go again. Huff in you GO!
--Splash!!--
Rose: Weeeh!! *Giggle*

If you're not familiar with the original "The little Mermaid" and are soft hearted, don't read it.

Love how this ribbon on the gift of fragrant bath crystals was tied in a heart shape. HMM, everyone ! !
So clean...so dirty..
Big up to Grab FDC for the hookup on this spot.
My shit was lookin a little bit like a "RIP Luis" mural you'd see on the side of a bodega in Spanish Harlem (or SpaHa if you're into that gentrification shit)...spent about 2 hours trying to paint a bathsalt brain eating zombie character but that shit no worky so i buffed it in about 10 minutes then went and ate at Checkers with Kem5. Fuckin Basel.

"Lebewohl Foot Bath, An Ideal Remedy for Sensitive Feet."
In the olden days, people actually soaked their feet with salts in porcelain basins.
HAPPY BLUE(ish) MONDAY! ;P
I love these little containers of bathing salts my sister and I got for Christmas. They are unscented, but the colors of the crystals are just gorgeous :)
For the "2009 in Photos" 365-day project.
Explored - #284, January 12, 2009!
This is the gloriously appointed Chemist Shop of Mr Jones on the Quay in Waterford City. Having explored Mr Jones' shelves, I think that the next time I go into a modern chemist/pharmacy for "Tablets of Compressed Drugs", the experience will be a little boring by comparison.
See the comments below for discussion on, and adverts for the weird and wonderful products on sale in this veritable Aladdin's Cave of early medicaments, some of which are still on our shelves today!
