Snaking through the Limpley Stoke Valley beside the River Avon, InterCity-liveried 37431 approaches Bathampton with 2V87, 1625 Weymouth to Bristol Temple Meads Regional Railways service on Sunday, 31 May, 1998. This location is now heavily overgrown and almost impossible to access.
Last lock on the canal section of the Kennet & Avon..once through the lock you are on the River Avon..turn right and into Bath and Pultney weir..which is amazing from the bank but even more amazing if you go right up to it in the boat!..
turn left and a days journey down the River to Bristol floating Harbour..a great place to moor and explore the wonderful city of Brizzle...
Sadly did not make it to Bristol this year by boat as ran out of time due to various engine problems & breakdowns and have to be in Liverpool in July so are now just off up the Thames..

This is from the car, as Tim was driving us out of Bath. These buildings are typical of the city, mostly built in Bath stone.
The Bath-Haverhill Bridge is the oldest authenticated covered bridge in New Hampshire. It is the first and only bridge to ever be built at this site. The bridge is a lattice truss with arches (two spans). Due to a drought at the time of my visit I was able to photograph the bridge from the river bed
The magnificent Royal Crescent in Bath was built between 1767 and 1775 to the design of John Wood the Younger, and forms a semi-ellipse of thirty Grade I listed houses arranged around a great Lawn.
This picture was a merge of several individual handheld exposures in my Canon G2.
