In the Basque coast at the north of Spain, the small island of Gaztelugatxe ("rock of the castle" in the basque language) hosts a chapel dedicated to Saint John, which dates back to the 10th century, creating a truly scenic landscape. The rock and the chapel can be accessed through a 241 steps staircase built on the rock, that communicates with the mainland through a two-eyed stone bridge. The place was regularly used as a set location during the shooting of the HBO production Game of Thrones.

El recorrido por la costa vizcaÃna nos llevará a conocer un mundo de rocas y acantilados, de pequeños puertos y ensenadas, de playas abrigadas de arena muy fina, en una costa escarpada, sólo suavizada por los estuarios que se crean en las desembocaduras de los rÃos. Retomando la carretera de la costa de Bakio hacia Bermeo, antes de llegar al Cabo de Matxitxako, avistaremos San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, un islote inhóspito de atrevidos acantilados que guarda en su cima la lÃnea inconfundible de una iglesia y que se une a tierra firme por un estrecho pasadizo que salta sobre dos arcos de piedra. 231 escalones nos separan del templo, con la huella de un pie en el primero y en el último, que las leyendas locales atribuyen a San Juan, cuya imagen se venera en la ermita.
Dominating the old port of Mutriku, the old fish market building is one of the most emblematic of the town. Despite having undergone various transformations, it still retains the Renaissance Gothic style of its origins, dating back to the 15th century. Built using stonework and ashlar masonry, its main façade has a large portico with wide half point arches.

A la entrada del puerto viejo, la lonja antigua (lonja zaharra) es uno de los edificios más emblemáticos de la villa. A pesar de haber sufrido varias transformaciones, todavÃa mantiene el estilo gótico renacentista de sus orÃgenes, datados en el S. XV. Construido en mamposterÃa y sillerÃa, su fachada principal tiene un gran pórtico con amplios arcos de medio punto.
