This sandstone barn was built in 1941 by the Richard Schultz family ( Richard was a banker) on what was called The 40 Ranch. The barn which is 55 feet tall, expertly cut and mortised of local sandstone, with two of the stones cut in heart and diamond shapesIt also has stone built extending the barn on each side of the large door on the front—more the makings of a cathedral than a barn, and is 15,000 square feet—with pine and hemlock-fir trusses that make up its intricate, arching skeleton. It's capable of holding 60,000 square bales of hay.

Dieses Foto hab ich gestern bei einem Spaziergang geschossen. Es sieht zwar sehr nach Regen aus, ist aber mehr Schein als Sein :-)

This photo I shot at a walk yesterday. Although it looks very like rain, but it is more illusion than reality :-)

Traveling the back roads of Vermont and came across this bright red barn that stood out on a gray, snowy day.

Barn Owl at Cley Marshes, Norfolk.

A view of an iconic Dutch barn which I have photographed before. It will be interesting to go back in month or so to see how the crop has developed. I took a much wider view of the field but I quite liked this closer view.

When you get the combination of a beautiful morning and a barnie, what could be better.

The Krall Barn is believed to be the oldest existing log barn in Lebanon County. The effort to save it first kicked off in 2007, when the structure, then located east of Schaefferstown, was saved from destruction by a cooperating owner, Howard Scharff, who worked with Schaefferstown’s Bill Ross by offering to donate the barn if it was dismantled. The way it stands now, most of the exterior of the Krall Barn is nearly complete. But there are many smaller, inside projects yet to be tackled. The education center is expected to make it easier for visitors to enjoy their time at the 110 acre historic site that features three locks of the Union Canal, an engineering feat visited by none less than President George Washington himself during its construction.
