Notice the dead looking tree on the right. It is suffering from Ash Dieback and like so many more Ash trees branches will break away and it will be felled.

Have a great evening.. thank for stopping by..
A well marked and distinctive warbler, the sexes are dissimilar with the male with a black cap, and the female seen above with a chestnut cap, note also the pale eye ring. ONE of the few birds where I think the female is better looking than the male.
Seen at Strumpshaw Fen, my sincere thanks to the T.V personaltity, Naturalist Photographer, Elizabeth Dack, for all her help. This was a long weekend with family, on the Norfolk Broads, but had to slip away with my camera early, hope I was not missed....lol.

This is a view of Currituck Sound on the Outer Banks of North Carolina heading north from Duck to Corolla. The Atlantic Ocean is on the right of where I am. This photo was taken several years ago. I sure wish I was there now. The ocean breezes would be quite a relief from the heat and humidity.

Seen on the corner, it's been a Barclays Bank as long as I can remember and a bank in pictures over a century old.
It closes the doors for good in the first week of June 2020. Santander closed their branch further up the road in June 2017, and it still remains empty.
Banks closing in high streets is never good news to residents and local shops.

reminds me of Otis Redding (1967/68):
"Sittin' in the mornin' sun
I'll be sittin' when the evenin' comes
Watching the ships roll in
Then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah..."

The thing is that this car drove up to the church where there is a food bank inside. I had a chat with this eminently nice couple who brought a basket full of tins etc. for the food bank. They enjoyed riding open in this vintage sports car and preferred it to their heavy and expensive electric limousine. And why did I feel uneasy about this scene? I believe that this kind of charity, well-intentioned as it is, does not address the root cause of poverty which, in turn, forces people to use food banks. The other thing is that, socially, there is no contact between donor and taker. The two will never meet - and perhaps they would not want to. Fuji X-Pro1 plus Helios 44M-7 wide-open.
