2019 was a eventful and exciting year.
One of the highlights was the hot air balloon ride at sunrise over Passau. The light mood and the morning haze created such an magical scenery. Hope you like it.

Wednesday evening hot air ballooning over the magnificent city of Bath, with the balloons floating up to the light wispy clouds, looking down on the beautiful crescent architecture lit by the late evening golden sunlight.

I always imagined hot‑air ballooning as a quiet, romantic moment for two — just you, the sky, and a gentle breeze.
Turns out the modern version is more like boarding a floating regional bus with a burner on top.
Still… once you’re up there, it’s hard not to smile. Even in a crowd.

We finally got our balloon flight (4th attempt - weather has to be almost perfect) I bought this for my other half's Christmas prezzie for 2008 and really wanted us to do it before Christmas 2009! We did and took our flight pm, Thurs 15th October. We took off from Penshurst Place in Kent, on a beautiful autumn afternoon
I have only just up loaded these images to my computer, I had forgotten I took them and I'm so pleased with this particular image. On Sunday afternoon after our Daisy Dog walk in the Dedham Vale we were sitting in the garden drinking a wee tiny Gin & Tonic (as you do) and I heard this strange sound and looked up to find a Virgin Balloon literally flying over our house (narrowly missing our chimney) and coming into land in the fields behind our woodland. I don't think it was an emergency landing as everyone looked pretty chilled but I do think it was a prompt landing for some unexpected reason as its not usual just to land in any field especially with crops. I thought they were going to land in my garden at first and we did hold our breath for a while. Anyway, my camera is never far from me and I managed to get this fabulous image with the helium or hydrogen gas blowing out. I will say this much what a bunch of miseries they were on this balloon ride. We waved and smiled as it was quite spectacular and not one person waved back, especially as they had the cheek to literally miss our house and garden by a stones throw. Society is so sad now that when you get to see this so close up that no one can smile and wave back, surely they must have an exciting afternoon but thats folk for ya...
