The Balinese (Indonesian: Suku Bali) are an ethnic group native to the Indonesian island of Bali. Balinese population of 3.0 million (1.5% of Indonesia's population) live mostly on the island of Bali, making up 89% of the island's population. There are also significant populations on the island of Lombok, and in the eastern-most regions of Java (e.g. the Municipality of Banyuwangi). It is the most populous Hindu majority island in the world.

A part of the temple complex, at the edge of Lake Bratan. The temple, along with some other sites, form the Cultural Landscape of Bali Province which was inscribed as World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2012.

This is one of the few night sky images I successfully captured during our vacation in Bali. The image is a panorama of four continuous shots taken near the beach in Candidasa. Unfortunately, although light pollution was not an issue, cloudiness covered the beauty of the otherwise starry sky almost every night.
I want to take the opportunity to convey that Bali is paradisiacal. The Balinese people are a delight and island's beauty is nothing short of remarkable. Our driver/guide, Mr. Wayan Lia, made the trip even more enjoyable with his insight regarding each location as well as the Balinese customs and philosophy of life. This trip has been one of the most memorable my wife and I have taken!

Bali is famous for being the place to be when it comes to surfing and yoga!
Visitors are also blessed with magical jungle resorts for very affordable prices! This is a bar area of one of these resorts close to Ubud, the capital of Yoga.
