Let's make a deal, honey. Your capital for my... expertise.

He makes bad decisions

like he’s signing autographs.

Shirtless, inked, sunglasses on -

indoors, midnight, no shame.

The neon says TEQUILA,

but he’s the one glowing.

He doesn’t ask for permission.

He orders regret with salt on the rim.

If you’re gonna fall - make it loud.

If you’re gonna flirt - make it epic.

If you’re gonna dance - do it on the bar

with one boot off and a dare in your grin.

He doesn’t sip. He sermons.

Doesn’t stumble. He poses midair.

And when the bartender says, “You sure?”

He laughs: "I was born for the bad idea"

Because tequila confidence isn’t about being right -

it’s about being legendary.

All the way down.

No brakes. No apologies.

Just lime, fire, and a story worth retelling.

What is wrong with Flickr????? It takes ages to load contact's photos - so long that I do not have time to wait endeless minutes to go through all my contacts images to make comments.

Sorry if I miss some contacts from time to time because of this painfully slow process.

I'm afraid I will not be on Flickr much until this ridiculous problem is sorted out.

It used to be fast and efficient - now it's just a pain in the butt!

This painting was regrettably eventually painted over as originally it was an exploding cannon on a bloody battlefield, but it all went horribly wrong - just like Flickr - and I scrubbed out the middle wondering what to do with it next. Then I sanded and re-prepared the canvas and painted over it. Maybe

I should have kept it as 'The Black Hole' !

I think with hindsight it was a regrettable error to obliterate the whole picture :-((((((((

Sometimes artists do silly things.

I'll be on and off from now on until Flickr gets its act together.

Closed doors are simply irresistible when exploring abandonments. More often than not, the curiosity to discover what is concealed beyond emboldens me push forward, even if some degree of risk is involved. But I always pull up short when confronted with a basement door. I think even the most inveterate explorers would hesitate at this point. One can only imagine what's down there. And therein lies the problem...we actually can imagine it. Living in a century home, there are times when I'm afraid to enter my own basement which is familiar and well lit. To enter into a space like this is mostly unimaginable. Sometimes my inner voice tries to save face by explaining that there's no point going down there; we probably wouldn't get good photos anyway; too dark; would need flash, probably nothing interesting, etc. While all of that may be true in part, it has nothing to do with my reluctance to enter. It's really connected to a primordial fear of entering into underground spaces, cold, damp, dark, mysterious, filled with unknown peril, wild animals, high likelihood of injury, or simply vanishing without a trace; gone for good. For me even approaching this near the aperture of darkness is thrill enough. This one is especially terrifying with the missing lower panel hinting at the likely subterranean dwelling of...something, lions, tigers, bears, Pennywise the Clown, interstate fugitives, human remains, endless possibilities, none of them good. Back in the moment, it took about a half second for my mind to paint this scenario (funny how that works. The risk evaluation and decision making process can unfold so spontaneously). I decided the best approach here was not to enter, but to document the boundary line to the otherworld. This leaves the nature of the mystery in the mind of you, the viewer, a blank slate that can be filled in with your own personal demons. Cue the maniacal laughter!

Today's Freedom to Fail Friday (fmrly Failure Friday) comes from the cradle of American freedom. Thus, I give you PHILADELPHIA FREEDOM FRIDAY!

But the real failure here, folks, is not so much in the photo (though it's a little out of focus), but rather in a stunning confession I must make. Dear friends, I ate two cheese steaks. In a row. Pat's and then Geno's. Talk about Freedom to Fail!

If it makes you feel better, that constituted lunch and dinner.

Also: to my surprise, I preferred Geno's. I wanted to like Pat's better, since they have more old-school signage, as seen here, (Geno's is kind of garish), but the proof was in the pudding (or the cheez whiz, as the case may be).

Have a great weekend, and feel free to fail!

Every once in a while I come upon a quote that I immediately think is greatest thing I have ever heard. Normally the more true, the better, so in this instance I happened to come upon about 30 in a really funny blog post titled “Mature Truths”. I thought it was funny how the memories I seem to remember most clearly, are also the most ridiculous and irresponsible ones.

Doing the Polar Bear Plunge into an Idaho lake in January must be an exhilarating experience, but I'll stick with taking pictures.

I was passing by this location the morning of June 28, 2008 just moments after this accident and took a few shots. What I didn’t know then but thanks to what I believe to be a reliable source, Andrew Reams www.flickr.com/photos/dieselducy/ , a truck driver (a smarter driver) who delivers to the GP paper mill that the truck was pulling out of, is that the driver of this truck thought he could beat the train…BAD DECISION! The driver had minor injuries…he was very lucky!

For FGR: ooops, my bad...re-enacting your worst decisions

Day 251

Let me take you back to December 1999, two days before my birthday.

I asked my mom if she would get me a pair of boots I wanted. She said yes. Now let me guide you through this step by step.

1. Mom said yes, so I got excited and ran (dumb idea)

2. I was barefoot at the time (dumber idea)

3. I decided to take a leap right before I got to my bedroom door (dumbest idea yet)

4. My foot buckled under me on the landing and I fell to the floor

5. It was broken

6. I laid on the floor laughing at my stupidity and the pain, wondering how much bigger it would swell

7. Decided to crawl to the kitchen for ice (I couldn't walk)

8. My mom saw me and freaked

9. She is now paranoid about me being barefoot so much

10. Since then I've broken toes, sprained ankles, and gotten nasty cuts

Dumb enough for ya?

Wading into the frigid waters of Idaho in January must have therapeutic value. Maybe that is why people come back year after year to take the Polar Plunge into Lake Coeur d'Alene.

It's been four months now since I got this bike - give or take a few days - and I still absolutely love it. Best purchase I've made in ages.

Doesn't have anything to do with the choice to put BAD DECISION stickers on it, but those stickers have made a lot of people ask me, "What, you don't like your new bike?"

CD Cover for LA band Lost City Radio.

I got to do pretty much my thing, but the band said no to a person jumping out the window.

Yeah, I don't know why either.

Finally got the film developed from my new holga. And by new, I mean it was my Christmas present last year from my special lady friend.

Anyways, she got me one with the multi colored flash, so I went to town with it one night while closing up the bar. This shot came out pretty much as I intended.

And yes, uploading a holga shot from a year ago heralds my return to serious photography. More to come!

We're almost positive Mike (right) has 2nd to 3rd degree burns, but this was totally worth it!

Texting while driving is a crime.

Photo Illustration for MacroMonday's group. Each week we post up to five images showing our interpretation of the theme.

This week's theme in the MacroMonday's photo group is 'Crime.'

EDIT: This was someone else driving a car and only holding the phone on the wheel, they weren't actually texting. I just held the camera in live view so I could see and fired when they hit 55mph.

A few days ago, I decided to upgrade my dependable Casio EX-Z1050 digital compact for a camera that would give me better quality images, and that could better deal with poor light levels. I didn’t want the inconvenience and expense of a full-blown DSLR, although that kind of picture quality would have been nice. So instead I decided to go for an all-in-one ‘bridge’ camera as the experts call them, a sort of halfway house.

However, instead of doing the usual research and looking at reviews and forums, I stupidly plumbed for a brand new all-singing, all-dancing Nikon P100. This mega-zoom camera looked the business, and despite the high price tag, I went for it. That was on the Monday morning, and by the Wednesday afternoon it was back in the shop where I bought it from, complete with refund. I’m not going to go into detail, but having spent well over £350, I was expecting pretty good quality images. However, it wasn’t to be; the images were of very poor quality and the camera kept freezing up. Subsequently reading reviews on the P100, I quickly realised that it didn't score very highly with those in the know, and they too had experienced similar problems.

Anyway, as of yesterday, I’m now the proud owner of a Canon S90, which is a little super camera, it's simple to use and takes great pictures. …and it stands up well in all the reviews I’ve read so far.

I wonder if lots of bad decisions have been made in there. Please press "L" for the true experience. :o)
