You probably won't understand the title this time, but in Dutch, this mushroom's name refers to its appearance when it's a bit older than the one pictured here: fried bacon. This is a very young specimen.
Wikipedia: Phlebia tremellosa (formerly Merulius tremellosus), commonly known as trembling Merulius or jelly rot, is a species of fungus in the family Meruliaceae. It is a common and widely distributed wood-decay fungus that grows on the rotting wood of both hardwood and conifer plants. The visual similarity of the fungus to bacon gives rise to the Dutch common name bacon-pork rind mushroom, although it is inedible.

Bacon's Castle, also variously known as "Allen's Brick House" or the "Arthur Allen House" is located in Surry County, Virginia, United States, and is the oldest documented brick dwelling in what is now the United States. Built in 1665, it is noted as an extremely rare example of Jacobean architecture in the New World.
The house became known as "Bacon's Castle" because it was occupied as a fort or "castle" by the followers of Nathaniel Bacon during Bacon's Rebellion in 1676. However, contrary to popular folklore, Bacon never lived at Bacon's Castle, nor is he even known to have visited it.
A shot from 2019 but one I never got round to posting at the time. Bacon Hole is a small bay tucked away next to Mupe Bay on the Purbeck coast in Dorset.

Bacon suffered a back injury this week -- A slipped disc or a pinched nerve, reckons the vet. Poor little bugger has the be kept in his crate (except for "short leashed walks") for two weeks.
Since he's caged and being fed steroids, Keith suggested we should rename him "Veal".
