The backstage area of the grand theater in a large Russian military barracks somewhere in the middle of nowhere in Eastern Germany. You can see the stage behind the curtain on the right. The whole place is abandoned since decades now.
Urbex is short for Urban Exploration. It is the act of going to and exploring lost and forgotten places that are not visited and often even inaccessible to the general public. Such places include abandoned factories, hospitals, schools, offices and other derelict buildings, unused nuclear bunkers, old military buildings, disused rail yards etc. The real urbexer will NOT break anything in (or to get into) these places. In fact that is considered VERY bad form. But if access can be obtained without causing any damage, then that's considered fair game. Vandalism and graffiti are NOT allowed. It's like nature photography: Leave only footprints, take only pictures. See more Urbex here.

Olympus OM-D E-M5 MkII and Voigtlander 17.5mm f0.95 MFT Nokton Lens. I first started using the Voigtlander Nokton lenses from 2015. This is my favourite image from that period. Always worth revisiting old work and processing them again. One of my all time favourite backstage pictures was processed in DxO PhotoLab 4 (primarily to get rid of the noise). The output DND was then processed in LightRoom and finished in Nik Software’s ColorEfex and Exposure Software’s X6.

Toby clearly takes his job as Badger Ambassador very seriously. About 15 minutes before the keeper talk was due to start he was taking a bath behind the scenes to make sure he looked his best for his starring role. :)
Backstage shot from
Yakhonty. Ubiystvo
movie by Rustam Khamdamov
The film is based on Ryunosuke Akutagawa's story "In a Grove" which takes place during the times of Tsar Alexander II. A lady-in-waiting tells the Emperor in his bedroom a metaphysical story about a 13th century prince who is killed in the woods under mysterious circumstances. Fairy tale characters who have witnessed the terrible death, all share their version of the events, gradually shedding light on what really happened.
