You can see 1/6th of Norway up there, at Gaustatoppen, Norway.
The top is 1883 meters above sealevel.
I'm at 1220 while shooting it.
It's sure is a fabolous sight.
Both up there and down from where I'm standing.
I've been up there.
There are different paths to get up there, and the paths are filled with rocks.
So is the mountain itself.
When you come up to the first building you can see that people are coming out of a tunnel which lead to a train - then you realize that you could have come up to the top a bit more easier than walking up..
There are steps to walk on from the lower building and up to the tower.
There are no railings anywheres.
You really need to focus when you are going on these stairs, which the sherpas have made for us, to not look down and out to the nothingness.
The magnetic draw is amazing.
From the tower and to the right on the picture, on the edge, there is even a trail - you have to balance on huge rocks to get to the very tip - and the tip is way out there
I'm never ever going to do that!
It looks awful.
Even to get on to that trail you have to go past the tower where the steepness to it all is horrifying, straight down, I really mean straight down!
I stood there totally in awe - looking at the edge, I turned my head away a bit and then suddenly a person came out from the side of the tower, like he hadn't done anything special that day....
If you look closely you can see small dots of colours on the left side of the tower and down the hill.
Human beings - all over the place, trotting up and down.

I had the chance to observe this beautiful butterfly for long minutes (it let me some time to rumage in my backsack and find my macro lens, good guy).

To launch the new year Mrs H and I set off at 11pm on New Years Eve to climb The Wrekin, a hill in Shropshire that rises 1,335 ft above the Shropshire Plain, so that I could try and capture some New Year fireworks over the Ironbridge Gorge. The climb took about 30 minutes, not helped by my backsack weighed down with my new ‘Bigma’ lens and a tripod carried with a (cold) hand. When we got to the top we were not alone – I’m guessing over 100 others had made the treck. I found a good spot and set up the gear and then whilst we waited we celebrated with a nice glass each of Pinot Grigio that Mrs H had carried (the dog was with us as well but she carried nothing).
Sadly, fireworks over the Ironbridge Gorge were non-existent – although plenty could be heard in the direction of Shrewsbury. I did, however, get a pleasing night shot.
