One can get ever so tired of the dark backround currently available to users of Flickr whether for an image or for comments.
In particular, I find the typing of white text on a more or less black background giving my eyes quite a struggle.
I am wondering whether I am alone in longing for at least an option for a white background both for one's images or at least for the typing of comments. So I have created today a group called "The White Background Option" which anyone is welcome to join if they feel the same way about this matter.
Humble wild flowers gathered from a field and placed in a common tumbler filled with water.
I did all the backround work, but then got stuck on what subject to paint. I started to sketch out this face on transparent velum paper, and this is the face that came out. I loved the way it looke especially being see through so I just pasted it on the wood. It came out much better than expected. If you look closer you can see right through the image.
I was inspired by my sisters card here

"Hello there, the angel of my nightmare. The shadow in backround of the morgue. The unsespecting victim of darkness in the valley. We can live like Jack and Sally if we want. Where you can always find me. And we'll have Halloween on Christmas. And in the night we'll wish this never ends. Where are you and I'm so sorry. I cannot sleep I cannot dream tonight. I need somebody and always this sick strange darkness comes creeping on so haunting everytime. And as I stared I counted the webs from all the spiders catching things and eating their insides. Like indecision to call you and hear your voice of treason. Will you come home and stop this pain tonight? Don't waste your time on me your already the voice inside my head. I miss you." Blink 182, I Miss You
These last pictures are of Thomas' memory sight. We made this area last year before the school year ended. I also took pictures of the flowers that were planted in this area aswell.
It's still hard to grasp that he's gone. I think about him and Devan everyday. I still feel like I'm having a dream that just keeps going. I want to wake up from it and be able to hear his voice again. I want to see him burst through the art room and say something like "Turn the music up, I love this song!' I know I'm not the only one that misses him. Everyone does. We just have different ways of showing it. I feel like we all lost touch since the accident. I miss everyone. The main ones who know how I feel graduated last year, so it's hard to talk to someone about it.
People pass by his memorial everyday and ask me the same question everytime, "Who was Thomas Rawlins?" I just look at them and say the same thing, "A wonderful, caring, friendly guy who every knew and cared about." They just look at me with blank stares. Of course, they're all people who never took two seconds to pull their head out of their butts, to even know who he was. That's when I just say, "Ask any of the seniors and juniors about him. They'll tell you great stories about him" It's rough, but I always manage to find something about him to make me smile.
