All these images have been created from actual flower photographs that I have taken over the years.

I thought that it may be fun to try and create a Floral Art Picture.

The actual flower photographs were put on PowerPoint and the backgrounds removed to take away any foliage detail. Each one was then recoloured and artistic effects added.

The image was then saved as a JPEG image.

All the images were then cropped and assembled together in Microsoft Publisher and the image was then saved again as a JPEG image.

Original background removed from this shot and replaced with modified contrasting selection

LOCATION:- Lunds

TRAIN:- 1Z87 14:40 Carlisle to London Euston

With a "Cumbria Classic Coaches" 1948 AEC REGAL lll on the road in the background. (JTB 749)

The bus actually passed about 10 minutes before the train arrived, the smoke has been added and a modern barn in the background removed.

I found the strangest orchid flowers ever at the Montreal Botanical Garden's greenhouse today. Thanks to Sonke Haas we now have a name for this strange flower: Bulbophyllum maximum. The plant is found all over tropical Africa growing as a lithophyte and as an epiphyte in open woodlands and riverine forests at elevations of 600 to 2100 meters.

The image above is a composite of 2 shots, with the original messy background removed. Each one of the small orange-red flowers is about 1/4in. long.

My Feather brushes were imported into iColorama.

If you think there is something fishy about this shot, you could be right.

The fish are from the Swell Sculptural Exhibition held annually at Currumbin Beach on Australias Gold Coast just south of Brisbane.

This sculpture is about 2m high and about 4m long and is in two pieces that curve and overlap each other such that you can walk inside them.

I think is is made of aluminium (aluminum) and was located on the sand. I thought it might look better in the ocean.

Just a hint here for Photoshop users. After performing a selection, the next edit steps using the selection then triggers a deselection. You can save the selection (marching ants) for later such as reuse elsewhere. Sometimes setting up the selection can be lengthy so saving it can be worth it. You can save the selection as an alpha channel, to be reloaded later in Selection-Save Selection. An alpha channel is one other than the RGB channels used by the image file.

Note that the saved channel is only saved for the duration of the application, so when you shut down, it is lost.

For the Seven Days Of Shooting Group

One of the biggest changes and a sign of the times we experience is the ability to do our own darkroom work, with the lights on.

In the old days, it was in-camera effects or do your own developing if you could. These days, you can play to your hearts content with software editing.

I probably spend more time, and enjoy more the editing than the shooting.

This shot had the background removed and replaced with a seawater shot. You simply couldn't have done that years ago with film.

Signs of the Times Theme

The photo not in focus low res but the color is reason why I uploaded it. I only removed the background and did one pass on it.

This one wasn't taken at the zoo, but on a lunchtime walk. This Ring Billed Gull resided near 16 Mile Creek in Oakville, Ontario.

Background removed in LU18.

background removed and texture added in PS. No idea what to call this image; if someone can identify the grass I will be very grateful. Image taken in Norfolk UK.

Not sure whether to make the background texture more hazy as it might fight with the grass? What do you think? I re-edited www.flickr.com/photos/choccupcake/52316520132/in/dateposted

DIY (Do it yourself) Light Tent for Product photography ( VIEW IN LARGE)

Well you don't always need very expensive equipment to get things done. My

last uploaded picture of Perfume bottle was taken using this light box.

Its simple to make and use. Sunlight can also be used effectively. This

small light tent or box can also be used with a desktop lamp for more light

control.

Just brush your brains. :-)

Pakistan

The Hurricane IIB gained prominence at a time when RAF Fighter Command went over to the offensive following the end of The Battle of Britain during which it had been. The 'Hurri-bombers', as they came to be known, bravely carried the fight to the European mainland in late 1941 and early 1942, initially armed with a pair of 250lb bombs and later with two 500lb bombs, together with an up-rated armament of twelve Browning .303 inch machine guns from the original eight.

A composited image initially processed in Lr5.6. The original capture was further along the runway, consisting of various industrial 20th century structures, effectively an unwanted and distracting background. Creating a cutout layer which I then applied to a second image further along the main runway with a tree lined background, removing some perimeter fencing and orange cones, and adding some motion blur to the foreground. Final process was in #OnOne PPS/PE to adjust shadow detail and colour contrast. then into PB&W using a bronze vignette, opacity reduced by 50%.
