The film testing backdrop (c1960s?) is effectively a wall on a V-shaped plan
constructed of eight panels of variegated materials: a smooth white panel, a
geometric breeze-block screen panel, a face brown brickwork panel, a cement
block panel, a random coursed panel of Castlemaine slate, a ti-tree brush panel,
and a panel of interwoven-masonite strips. As its name suggests, the wall was
used as a backdrop for film testing procedures.

This image was intended as a backdrop in a short 3D trailer sequence.
The sky is a heavily-modified photograph - the moon and rim lighting on the clouds were added in photoshop. The tree-covered mountains were generated in 3DSMAX using a combination of bump and displacement maps. Small clouds and mist were added in photoshop as well.

So I got together a bunch of friends (Sanity Is Lost, Ladies Of Metal, and several others) and we rented time from this fantastic studio in downtown Las Vegas, R2K Studios (.r2kstudio.com). They're set up was fabulous, and they're prices were super reasonable. They had so much stuff to choose from, unfortunately due to the amount of people I shot in the 3 hour span I didn't get to use very many of their props/different backdrops. But I am going back this week so keep an eye out for those photos!

I just got a white seamless backdrop and did a test shoot with Brent to see how to use it, and these are the results.
we threw a chair into the mix to see how it would cool. Brent is the best at modeling a chair haha.
