A cyanotype photo of a young lady in white dress, seated on a wicker chair in front of a painted studio backdrop. This seems a curious mix. This photo, taken by T & W Cummings, Lancaster Pennsylvania circa 1863, shows a young man by a classical decorative column. This is the same column and urn as seen in the previous photo by the same photographer. Behind the gentleman you can see a waterfall painted on a photographer's scenic backdrop. The photographer might have several of these with different scenes that he could wheel in and out according to his customer's wishes.
