羅厝天主堂為中部地區最早的聖堂，也是當時全台三大最具規模天主教堂之一，連清皇帝都曾御賜「奉旨敬教」石碑，給予官員經過必須文官下轎、武官下馬的禮遇。現存的天主堂因歷經地震震毀、年久失修等因素而重蓋，早就已非原貌，但它的歷史價值卻是無可取代的，教堂方面也成立古文物保存陳列室，為民眾介紹天主教傳入台灣的歷程。

Anita and I took a ride out yesterday and the clouds were absolutely wild all day! We were on our way to the Route 11 Potato Chip factory to check it out when we saw this and thought we must be in for a downpour but instead it actually cleared up and by mid-afternoon the sky was blue! Weird weather we are having this winter for sure!
