(Very) small business in Abilene, Texas. Used to have a sign out front that read, "Far wood fer sale!" But the proprietor seems to have gotten out of the firewood line in order to focus on auto repairs?
Camera: Anscoflex II, circa 1955, with twin-element meniscus lens. This lens seems to focus best from about 6 feet to 30 feet, beyond which images soften considerably. It has a flip-in-place close-up lens, which I had no success with. www.flickr.com/photos/194048042@N06/51758911847/in/album-...
Film: ISO 100 Arista 120 roll film, respooled onto 620 spools. Most 620 cameras can hold a trimmed-down 120 roll of film, but not the Anscoflex. Only film re-spooled onto a 620 would work.

Lee's Garage -- "You break it - I fix it" Former service station and auto repair garage. Permanently closed and vacant.
Bill Geer's Garage was established in 1946 and closed in 1987. He must have served the community well. The window says it all.
This appears to be an abandoned repair shop for cars, trucks and heavy equipment. Might even have sold a little diesel fuel, gasoline, plus tires and tubes.
I took this photo in 2013, the last year that the place shows up in Google Street View. Today it is an empty lot. Here's a photo I took in 2005, when the place was in good condition. My hat's off to the skilled painter who really made this humble building sing.
