Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band
Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand
And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand
Jesus freaks out in the street
Handing tickets out for God
Turning back she just laughs
The boulevard is not that bad
Piano man he makes his stand
In the auditorium
Looking on she sings the songs
The words she knows the tune she hums
But oh how it feels so real
Lying here with no one near
Only you and you can hear me
When I say softly slowly
Hold me closer tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
You had a busy day today
Hold me closer tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
You had a busy day today

This beach has had an amazing change. The creek use to run into the sea further down the beach, it now runs parallel to the shoreline. It has created a pool in the middle of the sand and this pool where it enters the sea. Perfect for reflections. Nature has it's way...
Just to wish you all a very happy Valentine's Day..
This was taken this arvie, while attempting some more shots of the tea roses and so often either of the girls wanders through in between, then all the roses wave and twiddle about, and then I have to wait till they're still again…
This time I thought, 'Now that's an idea…hey Pips, go back and stand right there.."
Well the roses still missed out in the shot really, but it was a good effort from Pip.
sooc..
Was hoping to catch a great sunset recently whilst visiting Robe however it just wasn't meant to be.
Well, just scraping in by the deadline again this week, and my apologies for running behind in comments to everyone but I had a birthday and went offline for a few days to do other things, then we had a tropical cyclone heading our way ..
In all, a bit of a distracting week, but will be catching up very soon.
I promise x
We went out this arvie and snapped a few pics in the rain run off from the nearby mountains that rushes through the park, endgorging the little gully.
As you know, I have two girls, but I chose Pips for 52 Weeks for Dogs group as she was more of a challenge, her photos are unpredictable, and gives me more surprises.
This pic is not technically that great but so candid, it gave me a laugh.
She's such a water baby ..
Hope you all have a wonderful week !
For last week's 52weeks for dogs was a pic I shot 'blind', hiding the camera on the floor where she couldn't see and hoping for a good aim and focus.
www.flickr.com/photos/116926212@N04/16350310521/in/photos...
But it happens to be the actual challenge for this week.
Shooting blind, 'shooting from the hip', on the fly, if you know what I mean.
So I've had to come up with another blind candid one this week, with a different idea.
As you know, I'm drawn to choosing pics that give me a surprise and/or a laugh..
Several attempts this week at this project, holding the camera high in the air as Pips jumps up for treats; limping along beside her - yes still limping - and snapping away madly as she walks with me, literally 'shooting from the hip'; calling her to me and trying for some happy approaches, while holding the camera at knee level; taking pics upside-down as she lay under a picnic bench beneath me.
Anyway, we have to post our 'best shot', but the one I really liked best for comical expression was a bit blurred, not the best technically..
And of course, I had heaps of past ones to choose from, but it had to be taken this week..
So this is the compromise, and I'll post the other one sometime.
Not exactly 'shot from the hip' but still shot blind, and from my knees.
Hope that's still alright..
She's just come away from a drink, still slurping and dribbling down her front.
Yes, and the tap is crooked, that's how it is.
I thought about straightening it, but then the water would be pouring diagonally, wouldn't it..
The 'black soil' here swells and contracts in the wet and dry, so most of our letterboxes are wonky too.
Also cropped it out but didn't like it as much.
Adds a bit of texture ;)
That green on her is from the grass reflecting in the strong daylight, which happens sometimes.
Anyhoo, enough of my waffle, enjoy the new week everyone, and sending my northern hemisphere Flickr buddies some much needed warmth. Another cold snap on the way, I hear.
Introducing my Miss Woolly to the group, '12 Months for Dogs'.
A 5&1/2 yr old Maremma celebrating the new year in by galivanting around a local lake in southeast Queensland, Australia.
In fact, every time we go out there, she celebrates !
Typical of the breed, nothing escapes minute inspection on arrival, then satisfied all is well in her dominion, she considers a little soaking and re-emerges half white/half mud, then away she goes, to run it off like a loony for her spin dry cycle - haha, makes me laugh :)

...to all my Flickr friends who are deep in snow, here's some warmth for you!! This was taken yesterday, our Aussie Summer:)
Gah !
I've been out of action lately, and only just read about December's challenge for the 12MonthsforDogs group !
Aaah, PLUS the last entry was to be in by Dec 30th !!
Sorry, guys !
Well, it's 4pm, New Year's Eve here in Oz, so please forgive the oversight.
Much fewer pics have been taken this month due to my personal mobility issues, so each trip out becomes more precious.
For this month's challenge, the very last one for this year:
"At Home"…
Well, no pics taken at home lately, but my little Pips is almost always 'glued to my leg', wherever we go.
So I s'pose, she's at home whenever she's by my side.
Last week, we made it out to one of the local lakes between the summer storms, and saw the huge old ponciana trees were in magnificent bloom.
It was quite hot, so after a stumble ( well, for me ... the girls were alright ) down the steep slope to the water's edge and a quick paddle, we made our way back up to the shade of these wonderful flowering trees.
It was hard going for me, and was more than happy to take it easy for a while, as her big sis decided, as is her routine, to find a good viewing spot and stay there to watch everything, and will not move till she's satisfied all is well in her dominion.
I always see this as a photo opportunity, and start lining up some pics of her. (See previous pic on group stream).
I somehow manage to get on the grass and crawl around for various angles…click click click...
All is quiet, then a bit too quiet … and then, how many times have I done this ….I suddenly come out of my dreamland concentration with a startle, and say out loud,
"Oh ! Where's Pip?!?"
Struggle to my feet and look around frantically.
Can't see her, "Where IS she ?!??"
Out loud again.
Who'm I talking to?
Well the other girl, of course.
Finally, I look down. Straight down.
And there she is, like always, right there.
Smiling up at me. Happy just there.
With the fallen ponciana flowers scattered around her.
She was there the whole time.
When I was down on the grass, she'd set up camp right behind me … I should know better by now !
I've read a saying from another culture decades ago.
"Happiness is at your mother's feet"
I've never forgotten it.
This funny little girl reminds me of it all the time.
This is where Pips is right at home.
Best wishes to you all for a wonderful new year filled with love.
Hoping to continue with 12 Months for Dogs 2016, if it's not to late for the round up xxxx
sooc
Greetings from Pips in southeast Queensland, Oz.
We're 'enjoying' a very humid, rainy, tropical summer so far.
In line for the January challenge of '12 months for Dogs', what better way for Pips to toast to the new year, as she's already 'in the drink' !
For those of you who already know the Girlz, yes, another one of Pips, my 5 yr old water babe.
Guarranteed, if there's water, she'll be in it.
A typical shot of her in the nearby lake, I think the best way to introduce her to the group, doing what she loves most.
Her first swim as a pup, was in a friend's saltwater pool on a local farm.
I think doggies much prefer to walk in to a natural body of water, rather than a pool with steep sides.
Well, this girl is full of surprises.
At a few months old, without hesitation, she just launched herself in.
Highly doubtful she'd ever seen any dog nor human swim, so how do they know this, for goodness sake ?
Anyhow, she was the first one in that day and every opportunity since.
And these days with a hull like a spanish galleón, of course she floats, haha :)

Looking forward to participating in this year's 12 months for Dogs, meeting, learning and being inspired by you all, sharing and likewise enjoying this group's fun pics and stories.
