Last year it was still the normal state between performances. Unfortunately, it now has a completely different symbolic power :-(

A Ghostly Audience.
Cromer pier is a grade II listed structure and was built in 1902 It has a working theatre (The Pavilion Theatre) at it's end and is well known for it's end of pier show.
This is night-time shot looking down the pier towards the theatre. The 2 second exposure gives the audience members a slightly ghostly look as they head towards the theatre and their seats.
Masada was a combined fortress and royal palace, and ruins are scattered all over the place. Above the chamber where Herod was supposed to receive audience seekers. On the wall to the back you see that the walls were plastered and made to look impressive as if they were made of giant blocks. This seems to have been the case all over the place inside and outside alike.

Herod the Great built palaces for himself on the mountain and fortified Masada between 37 and 31 BCE. According to Josephus, the siege of Masada by troops of the Roman Empire at the end of the First Jewish–Roman War ended in the mass suicide of 960 people, the Sicarii rebels and their families hiding there.

Today he's wearing clothes appropriate for jazz! Flames shoot out the top of the instrument as he plays (you can only see a glimpse in this image) but I was more interested in catching his audience.

During the sunset hour, an audience of rocks peacefully rests while watching the clouds dance across the sky. An unchoreographed display, it is none the less exhilarating. With each passing moment the dance of light takes a different form.
In this brief moment, the light arches from island to island, covering most of the sky. Albeit an enthralling period, the audience remains steadfast, in its stoic repose.
At the Annual Busker Festival in Ottawa processed with Topaz Impressions in the style of Georgia O'Keefe at 67 % opacity.
Some hoodoos on a stage seem to be performing for an assembly of rocks that have lost their pedestals in the Valley of Dreams.
Another half hour or so until sunset but the vantage points are filling fast. The rockwall marking the western end of Waikiki Beach is a popular spot.
Audience interaction is one way of making live performances more interesting, like the Amanda Lee Swingtet performing the works of jazz singer Nat King Cole here. After all, nothing is better than two way communication to keep audiences involved.
Taken at the Rolling Stones concert at Du Arena in Abu Dhabi. the lights were focussed on the crowd i captured this from behind the crowd, bottom left the guy holds his beer as if to say "cheers" to the Band.
