During a trip to the botanical gardens in downtown Atlanta, I found an incredible number of plants in full bloom. From the many varieties and variations of blue, pink and purple Hydrangea to the bright yellow Black Eyed Susans (Rudbeckia), the colors are amazing! There were more than a few plants I couldn't identify, which makes the trips to the gardens a bot of an adventure and a learning experience! I was thrilled to take a picture of this beautiful plant, but forgot to capture it's name; I guess I'll just have to go back to find out! Anyone know what the name of this plant is?

The interesting shape of the plant and the fantastic colors caught my eye. Not being a traditional flowering plant added even more interest; I tried to capture it from several angles to show off the way it grows (see my other picture I took) and the unique way it cascades.

As I was constantly moving in and out of the deep shadows of the garden, and there was a fair amount of wind. As a result I set the ISO up quite a bit to make sure the photo's I did take in the darker spots of the garden weren't blurry! That way I only needed to adjust my aperture speed and could leave the rest of the camera settings the same. I was carrying a tripod with me, but there was so much to see and I only had a short amount of time this day to be in the gardens.

No one on the road. A rare and awesome occurrence.
