I remember the change in drugusage switching from marijuana and beer to chemicals esp. speed-cocaine-extasy
At the same time there was war close to our borders.
The idea of posing as a chemical warrior whilst being just a bored metropolitan kid annoyed me.
To me it was a shift in youthculture : anticipating the values of a neoliberal, reunited germany that was fueling the balkan war.
Thanks to ZEITGEIST there was as well Atari Teenage Riot and fuckparade. Bassterror kept me faithfull.

I played this one a lot in the auld days. It inspired on of my favorite bits in Craig Kubey's landmark 1982 book, The Winners' Book of Video Games. In it, we learn that when the player gets a strike, the little bowler onscreen jumps up and down and his shirt and pants flash on and off, just like in real bowling.
