Remember back when the Atari 2600 was the most impressive thing ever? Remember back when everyone had one of these controllers you can plug into your TV and that was the coolest thing ever? This picture is cool because those are now vintage and cool. Yeah.
an event by Ecko and Atari for Atari's party for the new graffiti game, Getting Up. The city revoked the permit, but eventually the promoters were granted permission.
I got this system at the Grandview Flea Market NH for about $10. It has only 1 controller, power supply, switch box and a few games. Luckily it is backwards compatible with the Atari 2600 games and controllers. This is the system I use to play the Atari 2600 games as well as the 7800 ones. I ended up with two of these systems since I found another one left behind in the house we bought. It was my grandparents. They bought the system on sale after it no longer sold well and kept it at the house for the kids to play with. When we bought the house I found it in a drawer in the room we now use as the compter/drawing room.
The 1981 arcade classic had its best conversion to home formats on the Atari 2600. Simple but fiendishly simple Frogger was a classic. More.
The road scrolls vertically, with some moderately sharp bends in a manner similar to Spy Hunter You have a jump device to clear the many jumps, or to land onto and flatten the other maniacs who line the road. You must choose which path to follow at OutRun-style forks in the road.
The roads contain bonus tags including bonus points, a battering ram to make contact with other cars more effective, and energy boosts to replenish damage. If you leave the road you must replace your car onto it using a directable winch which appears at the appropriate point.

Wow, this brought me back to my childhood. I had many of these games: combat, asteroids, space invaders (my all-time fave), space armada, california games, joust, pole position, centipede and ms. pac man. I miss the days of simplicity...now video game controllers have 8 million buttons and it's a bitch to remember what they all do!
To look at the box you would think its brand new straight off the shelf!!
Its had literraly no contact with anything since the day it was bought
Off on the side, we had a test exhibit set up - the last quarter of our new History of Console Controllers exhibit. This part involved a controller attachment known as the Avenger, set up to play Street Fighter IV, with a conventional Xbox 360 controller next to it for comparison.
Unfortunately, the camera angle is such that you can see only the XBox 360 controller without the Avenger.
