Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a pink or purple day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Smile on Saturday is mini figures. This is the perfect theme since Mr. Egg just made it into the aspiring astronaut team ! He is very proud and can’t stop smiling while wearing his astronaut helmet and standing in a row with other future astronauts. Of course, the training to become an actual astronaut is long and very difficult… And Mr. Egg will have to train very hard and maybe even lose some weight before going to space (but this is secondary since we all know that weight don't matter in a zero gravity situation)… However, right now, all Mr. Egg can think about is how happy he is, standing among all those mini figures. I hope this « first day » at astronaut school picture will make you smile !
Those mini Lego figures are from my husband’s collection. Now, my sons play with them… and sometimes I do too, especially if it is for a Flickr challenge.
Have a beautiful day ! Mucho, mucho amor for you all !!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!!
for # looking close... on Friday
Astronauts call the suit they wear during the launch and the return to Earth the 'pumpkin suit' because it's bright orange. This suit protects the astronauts during launch and landing in emergencies.

Astronauten noemen het pak dat ze dragen tijdens de lancering en de terugkeer naar de aarde het 'pompoenpak'. omdat het feloranje is. Dit pak beschermt de astronauten tijdens de lanceren en de landing in noodgevallen.

Breathtaking photorealistic 3D rendering in Unreal Engine 5, an astronaut exploring a mysterious alien planet beyond our solar system. Awestruck expression visible through a crystal clear helmet, illuminated by a distant sun reflecting off polished silver spacesuit surfaces. Endless planetary horizon framed by a swirling nebula in deep purples, electric blues, and fiery oranges. Spacecraft interior subtly reflected in the visor. Hyper detailed spacesuit textures seams, bolts, scuff marks, matte fabric, and gleaming metallic joints. Ultra high definition 4K, fine dust particles, twinkling stars, cinematic lighting, ray traced reflections, volumetric fog. 16:9 widescreen cinematic aspect ratio. Raw, unfiltered style, stylize 300.

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !!
Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate tableware at Macro Mondays. Once again, I went with a fork since I love the shadows they can produce. As you can see this old silver fork, looks like an item from the another the or space… Who knows, maybe this fork was even on the moon with NASA. I, personally, have no recollection how this from ended up at my house. However, we all know by now that I’m a hoarder and that tableware has a place in my hoarding process for sure. So lets just say that this is an old astronaut fork from 1969 and it might have been used by Neil Armstrong himself… and this being said, it is my day at the office today so wish me luck ! See you later !
Mucho, mucho amor for you my friends !! Have a beautiful day !!!

We got to meet Josh at our Library in town when he came in and spoke on his trip to space. I made a collage of a picture of us and one he took of space that he displayed and you can see where I've typed Chx and that is Charlevoix from space. You can see Lake Michigan, our little round lake and Lake Charlevoix clearly.
NASA astronaut Josh Cassada retired Oct. 1, after 11 years of service to the agency across multiple programs, including 157 days in space and three spacewalks. Cassada also is a retired United States Navy captain and naval aviator with more than two decades of service.
Cassada served as pilot of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-5 mission and Expedition 68 flight engineer aboard the International Space Station, executing myriad maintenance, contingency, and upgrade activities inside the station while also contributing to hundreds of experiments and technology demonstrations. His three spacewalks outside of the orbiting laboratory totaled more than 21 hours, successfully installing a pair of International Space Station Roll-Out Solar Arrays (IROSAs) to boost the station’s electrical capacity. Cassada, alongside crewmate NASA astronaut Frank Rubio, also assembled the infrastructure for a future IROSA installation and fully restored a malfunctioning legacy solar array.

Yinka Shonibare CBE (Verenigd Koningkrijk 1962)

Yinka Shonibare invites you to reflect on the far-reaching effects of climate change and the forced migration it will bring more and more in the future.
A real astronauts suit (waterproof and machine washable!). This one used to belong to a good friend of mine. NOTETOSELF: I need a new nametag.

Astronaut John Young, who walked on the Moon during Apollo 16 and commanded the first space shuttle mission, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at the age of 87 from complications of pneumonia. Young began his impressive career at NASA in 1962, when he was selected from among hundreds of young pilots to join NASA's second astronaut class, known as the "New Nine." Young is the only agency astronaut to go into space as part of the Gemini, Apollo and space shuttle programs, and the first to fly into space six times.
In this image, John Young, astronaut and Navy veteran, salutes the U.S. flag at the Descartes landing site during the first Apollo 16 extravehicular activity (EVA-1). Young, commander of the Apollo 16 lunar landing mission, jumps up from the lunar surface as astronaut and Air Force veteran, Charles M. Duke Jr., lunar module pilot, took this picture.

Houston we have a problem...
Elsa managed to find an astronaut outfit, but she has too much brains for this little helmet, also the space ship she could get is not big enough. Sorry alien friends, another time it will be...
Blythe a Day. May 2025 Day 06
Thought that this fit the "something that flies" description for Weekly Theme Challenge and seemed timely with the recent lunar mission. Astronauts certainly do fly and great distances at that. This cool, modern, kaleidoscope style mural of Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, is by Eduardo Kobra. It is located in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio and Armstrong hails from that state. To provide a bit of perspective it is over 7,500 square feet. Note the cute little nod to E.T. in the upper right-hand corner.
THANK YOU ALL MY KIND FLICKR FRIENDS.
YOUR FAVS, COMMENTS AND INVITATIONS ARE VERY MOTIVATING AND APPRECIATED.
Sorting out the attic, I recently came across my Astronauts' autograph collection from the 1970s, including the first and last men to set foot on the moon (Armstrong and Cernan). Most of the autographs are 'Autopen' - a machine-made copy of the real signature, but a couple of them are personalised, so maybe they are real signatures. Bottom centre is Neil Armstrong's on a piece of card. I have autographs for all the astronauts who flew from Apollo 7 to 15.
I'm typically not one for filters, however, being that this exposure was abstract bokeh already I decided that adding this heavy oil filter in post process added to the artistic aspect I was looking to get out of the image. I keep coming back to the bright highlight in the left upper third to see a celestial being waving back at me. The original concept was to represent the spectrum of colors that makes up our "white light". What do you see?
